It's been my experience that that's half the point of patreon. The other point being money of course. I'm by no means an editor, so maybe my opinion isn't worth much. I think so far you've done a good job with their conversations. His little confession on the cart was cute. So I'm sure whatever pass you make before it makes it to RR will help with delivery. If it helps to have a reader's perspective, when i was reading this, the vibe i got from Nathan was that he thinks he's going to die, and he's telling her goodbye even if he isn't outright saying "goodbye". Also, I'm a sap, and if she someone hears these words in her coma state to tell him later, I'm so down for that.

Honestly, it doesn't sit perfectly with me either. I'm probably going to go back and change that, when I have a better idea for the 'exchange' and before this chapter hits RR. Sometimes, thats the nature of early access serial writing. An early version like this doesn't have the perfect impact you're going for.

He could have maybe done the gains overview when he was handed the mirror by Baldric? But i agree it doesn't fit the tone. I... dislike the "i think i love you" line. That is... an awful thing to say, even if she can't hear him. He's about to die (not really). If i wear him, i'd be more certain, even if i was unfamiliar with the concept of love, if i thought it was my only chance to say those words aloud, i wouldn't say "i think i love you". I would say "i love you". And while I'm not Nathan, that kind of pre-death conviction of what is someone's "last words"... yeah, he'd say it with certainty. Everyone would. Or maybe not, but I've never met someone who would flake out in that moment. Also, it hits better from a reader perspective for his last words to be, "i love you, Syvia". There's power in names and in saying someone's name. But hey, you're the author. I'm just commenting. I'll still keep reading regardless.
