I don’t think so. Unless Sasha is 30~40 I’m assuming she isn't even born at this point of the story, which makes it seem to early for her mother to be getting sick from her meds.

Aside from saying thanks for not being smeared across the road, wonder what the little Nina wants? She's a night city street kid so she should have a well developed survival instinct. Could hazard a guess she's curious about the bird four times her size helping her out of a tough spot. Little apprentice maybe? Could do alot better than the meat wagon.
