Haha for sure. First version I think I just edited with too many jump cuts/quick laughs, and it accidentally kinda gave off like an insult comic vibe, which is the worst vibe ever. I gave the footage a second pass and remembered that Phish fans were actually pretty fun to kick it with so in this new cut, the editing pace is a lot slower and I tried to cut things to match the tempo and vibe of the music - Andrew

Believe it or not, most of the 'types' of people in this video are the minority of Phish fans. I'm not one to defend the 'scene' because it's awful, but a majority of the people at shows are people you'd see in public and never think they're into the band. Many may have been spun out long-haired wooks in the 90's and 2000's but grew up and keep going just for the music. I basically just described half of my friends.. ha.

The 'presence blackout' is a real thing... and this is coming from a non-wook who doesn't drink or do drugs. When my mom died after seven long months on hospice which was the last chapter of my 14 years as her caretaker, I knew the only place I could go to feel good and forget about literally everything for just a few hours was a Phish show because believe it or not, a LOT of us are there for the music and aren't space cadets. I went to my first Phish show because I lost a bet with my best friend. I'll never forget looking out at an entire arena of people dancing and thinking 'holy shit, this is why they're here' after not being into anything other than hip hop and jazz. I never cared for the Dead because they didn't have jazz fusion influences Phish had that I also found in hip hop and one thing a lot of people have a misconception about is that Phish and the Dead are musical cousins when they really aren't.
