MT I believe you are talking about SESTA and FOSTA bills that were passed in 2018 that weakened section 230 of the communications decency act. While I agree the SESTA and FOSTA bills are not good legislation and can and have been weaponized outside of their original intent I don't feel like this particular case falls into that category since it would require the "participation in a venture" part of the SESTA and FOSTA bills. Here Patreon is still allowing the content just making sure its censored. I think its a money issue, I can not imagine patreon wants to spend ANY time or money going over these issue when they can just ban it and move on.

This is the fallout from the conservative Christian groups pressuring credit card companies (Mastercard, Visa, ect) into anti-sex work policy's under the guise of stopping the exploitation of minors and sex trafficking. Its a campaign that they have been pursuing for a long time and have recently succeeded. it has all company's afraid to breach these policy's as they will lose the ability to accept credit card payments. OF, pornhub are the major targets but also a lot of collaterally damage comes to small content creators like Channel 5. I know Channel 5 usually covers current political events, hot/up and coming celebrity's and, big pop cultural events but maybe they would dip their toe into investigating these Christian groups affecting credit card policy and talk to the people it hurts the most. shine a light on a huge and not spoken about problem.
