I haven't heard that before, can you help me understand how you come to that conclusion? I am puzzled because what I gather from contemporary literature is that the diagnoses you listed not only that lack biological indicators (biomarkers like structural brain differences or genetics), they are also intricately interwoven with cultural mores and biases. In the example of Crip Mac, I could imagine a child born to more affluent parents to be diagnosed with ADHD instead of ODD, for example. Not to mention that there is a significant body of critique on the DSM, on the basis that its categorical nature doesn't quite capture the dimensionality of mental disorders. I do concur with you on the point that certain environmental and socioeconomic factors lead to a higher rate of mental health issues. As to not being "allowed to call that out", I'm afraid I can't follow. What do you mean by that?

ODD is an interesting "diagnosis". Vastly over-diagnosed in the black population. Crip Mac hasn't been served by the educational system, that is for sure.
