I hope this incident doesn't deter you from continuing to make great content for YouTube as I would love to be able to share with people who aren't on your Patreon. I was just telling my mom (who is on the opposite end of the political spectrum) about your Vegas series and it started a conversation about homelessness and about a young man in her town that she had just recently tried to help. She was trying to help fund him getting to any family member that would help him. It turned out he didn't have any family, and that he refused help from aid organizations. I related the similar story from the Vegas tunnel series and we both cried a little about the incredible sad circumstances of people. We talked about how we both had soft spots in our heart for these people. It brought us closer together, when typically news recently has created tension between us. Keep doing what you are doing. I really appreciate how you are seeking to find common ground with people you don't agree with.

My wife and I just finished watching...both were homeless in Durham NC and thanks to some help and support were able to get out. I cannot support what this video speaks on enough. From the rules of the homeless society to the individuals personalities, the freedoms and the traps, all shown exactly the way I experienced it. Just incredible...Boxer said it best though. The best anyone can give is a smile and a handshake. You lose your humanity and that has nothing to do with the drug's. That's has to do with society. And that programs approach to an attempted solution should be THE model for any and every program moving forward. Well made sir. Well made!

Then I saw the explanation for why it happened and now I've downloaded Patreon for the first time and subbed to Channel 5. After watching the YouTube update, I feel compelled to share that this documentary doesn't dissuade me from wanting to visit Vegas. Actually, it's the opposite; like so many of Channel 5's videos, this doc humanizes people that have been ostracized for (in many cases) simply having a streak of bad luck that's compounded by processes and/or systems that punish that bad luck. Living without a financial safety net isn't a crime. Unfortunately, the YouTube strike against this video implies it should be. Vegas' laws - as mentioned in this documentary - all-but-literally say it is. Fingers crossed you get some proper help from YouTube support asap but, more importantly, I hope I'm not the only one inspired to support the channel through other means so you guys can keep up the kind of quality reporting that's virtually nonexistent anywhere else online right now. I've dealt with false DMCA takedowns on my channel before. Have you all exhausted all of the reasonable non-legal means of getting this strike removed? There's a chance the clip was autodetected by YT's software and their legal team issued a strike without vetting if it was fair use or not. Reaching out to the responsible party has resolved most of my strikes in the past. Hope you all can get the strike removed <3

I definitely recommend submitting a counter. They have to review it again, and if they think it's still a valid claim, you can submit the counter again at which point they would have to take legal action, something I doubt they would actually follow through with.
