As a countryfolk who keeps poultry, I have never seen a rooster that seriously would love to fight. Sure, some are more quarrelsome, but the reason is typically that they don't have enough space and/or chickens to have flock of their own. Typically you remove the fighters from the flock and don't let them to reproduce. But these people intentionally breed 'game chickens' that are aggressive by nature and can be dangerous for humans too Roosters wanting to always kill eachother at first sight is a myth. They can coexist in harmony and peace, share the same flock and work as a team to keep their chickens safe from predators. 🐓♥️

We are reasonably a superior being, if fucked to say but we are I have always thought that wether it’s an animal even a human you only know and understand what’s in front of you. At time it might seem difficult to understand from an outside perspective. I believe that passion is happiness and wether you are a roster that was brought up to fight and it was engrained in your genes since before you were born is no different than I hungry and unducated child from a third world country that enjoys playing soccer with a coconut. That child doesn’t realize how hard that coconut hurts until he plays with brand new soccer ball maybe then it just won’t feel the same. If they were picking up the roosters from the street and then making them fight. I would understand how gruesome it would be. But that is not the case these rooster live their lives for this. The same way your dog feels the need to protect you from strangers. You wouldn’t realize the joy of reviving an Amazon package if Amazon weren’t a thing.

I agree with you that the protestors are missing the mark, but you are missing the key difference between suffering in the meat industry and in cock fighting: The meat industry hides the animal suffering because they know it's bad. Cock fighting celebrates the animal suffering.

The root cause of 99% isn't farmers, it's the treatment of the food industry. The U.S sees food as another business, cutting costs for increased profits. These cut costs that affect the farmers end up causing animals to be mistreated cause it's cheaper. In my opinion, if animals rights activists could come to terms with the farmers they vilify, they could actually make some significant progress. The fact that they've not come close to this conclusion, suggests a lack of empathy towards people specifically. (Which is weird, you hate people but love animals?) example, you got people working slaughterhouses exposed to bloodborne illnesses and ammonia daily. Nobody want's to work there, it's a job you take out of necessity (in some cases though yea you got sadists working there). Activists don't give a damn, to them those guys are on the same level as serial killers. By changing their approach, activists could fund unions and strikes, and THAT would actually get them somewhere. You see what I mean, it's frustrating. Why would you assume the people who are protesting cockfighting are not also opposed to the mistreatment of workers and any other forms of abuse? I think you'd find quite a bit of overlap. And they can also probably draw the line between killing animals for entertainment and killing them for food. How is that hypocritical?

Not being edgy, their hypocrisy genuinely makes me mad. They'd sooner lay their lives down for a sad looking cow than find common ground with the millions of farmers in debt slavery. Which turns out is the root cause of 99% of animal abuse. Every single protest and movie they somehow pull out of their ass misses this point. It is true that roosters are very aggressive and they fight each other to the death like many other animals do in the wild. I don't think there is harm betting on a winner if its done naturally. But its all thrown out the window as soon as you put razor blades and shit on them.

My dad used to raise fighting roosters a long time ago. He never fought them, only breed and trained them. They'd have to cut the crest, shave the feathers under the breast and legs & cut off the spurs. They would hold "derbies" as they called them... People would take 4 of their best roosters and fight them until the last one remained. Kind of like Pokémon I guess. They would used different sizes of blades. One that was like a knife that would cut quickly and the fight was over quick. One that was like a fencing sword, long and thin harp tip which took a while and the smallest being the "pico" which was the size of the rooster spur but made of metal/aluminum & sharpened which took the longest. Of course all this is extremely illegal but there's several places in Texas and Louisiana that still do this. & when a place gets raided people scatter throughout and exit everywhere. Jumping fences, running into fields and canals etc etc.

But, right now, this might be problem number one million and two on the list in terms of importance. There are dismembered corpses on the streets. The people are dead poor.
