The Man who leaked Luigi's Manifesto (FULL INTERVIEW/NO CUTS)
🕑 Added 2024-12-21 00:09:02 +0000 UTCHey guys,
Coming to you a block from MDC, where Diddy, El Mayo, Sam Bankman-Fried and Luigi are being held.
Here's our interview with an investigative journalist named Ken Klippenstein, who chose to leak the manifesto of Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Maryalnd man who is alleged to have assassinated the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson around two weeks ago.
He's been described by the media as a deranged and unhinged lunatic - which could be possibly true, but as we've now learned, there's more to the story. ..
Before doing what he did, Luigi published a brief manifesto outlining his motive. This document was withheld from publishing by mainstream outlets, who followed the advice of the U.S. State Department, who classified Luigi as a terrorist and advised that:
“The publication of terroristic manifestos may inadvertently glorify the perpetrator.”
However, Ken chose to leak the manifesto for reasons which he outlines in this interview. I'm aware there are some minor audio issues with my vocal track, but we're getting those figured out for final cut .. just wanted to get this out to you as fast as humanly possible.

You had me until the part where you think voting works. There's no political solution, and never has been.
Jacob Lewis
Honesty is the best policy. You have put forward your point in a well articulated manor; brought forth by deep, meticulous thought on the subject discussed. I am also hammered.
Ian
thanks for stating this, I would've expected Andrew to at least know a bit more about his background as an investigative journalist

Yeah that's why I said at some point and not "this should have been free from the start" or sumn

Second this. As much as I like contributing to the channel via Patreon, I think this shouldn't be paywalled.

This interview is amazing and super important. I really hope you'll consider releasing this for free on yt at some point because I feel like it's a take that more people need to hear.
Jane Hamilton
What’s bad about this take? I feel like most of this is pretty logically driven I see little to no bias and just honest account of the facts.

Hopefully this is a wake up call to the greedy cunts who run our bullshit overpriced healthcare system. Although private health insurance IS an unnecessary parasitic middleman, their profit margins are only about 5-10%. Its big pharma that profits hugely off of publicly funded research, and the hospitals who charge $60 for a box of kleenex in a hospital room for an overnight stay...and like he says, why is big pharma allowed to get away with charging thousands of dollars a year for insulin when it costs pennies on the dollar to make?

The comorbidities are mounting for our invisible handjob empire—🍉 Tik Tok “problem” of Palestine —✌🏻Luigi “problem”. Smedley Butler is truest American patriot here 🇺🇸👌 “War is a Racket”. What they are truly afraid of is “terror” in the ballot box.. the young going 3rd way and voting to strip capitalist elites/corporate lobby of their command of a fallen $laver empire. The veil has been torn. The cat is out of the bag. The public has Ch. 5 doing the people’s journalism out here in the streets.

not doubting his reporting in any way just flat out curious but at the beginning of the video is he reading? If he is it'd be great to know that he was reading from a pre-written and well thought out essay to that first question rather than have it seem as though he was saying this all off the cough? Disclaimer: I day drank and haven't even finished the entire video or even read the description + comments. I still spelled everything well. Love you all happy new years and merry christmas but whats he reading?

Subscribed for this one and glad I did! This conversation is so important, thank you for bringing intelligent dialogue to the table. So hard to find thoughtful analysis in the homogeneous news milieu. Excellent work

The Corporatists always have the same argument: "You should have worked harder." That is the extent of their ability to humanize.
Billy Goddin
Bruh. I know you don't understand anything. Please do not make the audience of this channel dumber with your childish, voluntary celebate hate. Please refrain from ever commenting on any platform. You're idiocy and ignorance is a disease and will make someone dumber. Please I beg you. Never express your miniscule thoughts ever again. For the sake of human kind. Just write in a paper journal and ask your mom to store them for you.
Billy Goddin
Bruh, when's the last time you touched someone? Consensually? Hahahaha

Did the free Luigi rally video get taken down?

What a great conversation. You guys nail it on the head. The mainstream media just doesn't understand why we all collectively just shrugged when this faceless CEO was murdered. They don't understand our struggle. They want to placate us and get back in the factory. We deserve DIGNITY and we deserve QUALITY HEALTHCARE.

Which of the manifestos is this about? The long one or the short one?
Nick Bratton
Thank you for this! Really love this direct, uncut format. Also, Andrew, intriguing point about re-examining the definition of violence...taking this point away to ruminate on. Top work!

Thank you Andrew for bringing this to light, super important discourse. And honestly major shoutout to Ken. I’m amazed at how well spoken he is. I found myself agreeing with pretty much everything he had to say. Awesome coverage!! More conversations like these please. #KeepIt55th

Lol that final cut at the end ("do I just X out?"), you're mean XD (And I'm mean for laughing!) In all seriousness though, really great reporting, keep this up. Guess we'll be getting some coverage from that rally soon!

Thanks for the conversation.

Ken is clearly a good man for publishing this document when others did not, I did find it interesting he chose not to use Luigi's description of "parasites" to describe heads of healthcare

Is it the “not understanding” of those privileged? or is it wilful ignorance at questioning the foundations of their own security? Questions that lead to sanctions, exclusion and guilt… I swear cognitive dissonance is the biggest sickness of our time.
Joshua Price
Thanks for the coverage, information, and really trying to get a concise version for grandma when we are talking about this at Christmas. I'd like to see some more long form interviews even raw cuts like this. This was very helpful Channel 5 WORLDWIDE!!!
Seth Aronovich
Glad you're covering this. I'd love to see journalists doing the legwork on this story- talking to the McDonalds employees to confirm whether there's any truth to the claims that someone dimed the hero out, and if they are, who the culprit is and where they live, and talking to his relatives about stopping the state from chucking him in a mental asylum to prevent a trial.
cafighteria
i feel like we are also at a point where we need insurance insurance wtf is this place

As a Canadian whose father just had a major, urgent and life saving surgery - the only thing on my mind was if he was going to see my mom again. I cannot possibly imagine asking my parents if they could afford to save his life, and I certainly can’t imagine having to argue with the greatest scam artists of our lifetime - insurance agency’s.

adding a more technical AI description here because I studied data science in college and feel like Ken didn't get at the roots here: AI, to put it in the most crude way possible, generates the "average" response based on a series of inputs. so if you have data on a series of 100 patients with similar characteristics (age, gender) and 80% of them were denied coverage for a specific medication, an AI system trained on this data would likely advise that another patient with similar characteristics should also be denied care. AI is particularly powerful because it can accept a large range of inputs and be optimized in nuanced ways to produce different outputs. there's a saying in data science, "garbage in, garbage out" where if you're making a predictive model and using extremely biased data (such as data from a company that recklessly denies claims), the AI model making claims decisions is really only capable of doing the same. the key is that narratives around technology are that it is superior to human capabilities or is "the future", so people theoretically are more willingly accept it-- or be forced to because they literally have no recourse. nuanced model optimization also means that outputs can also be corrected to optimize for cost savings or insert promotional content (coming up from google and chatgpt).

Chess not checkers .. Luigi is a useful idiot and will be a twink in the joint getting his Rosca packed out .. people romanticize these people too much .. he ain’t no factor .. same shit is gonna happen #LandBack

Here's my personal example of how insurance decides care with ai. I had hormone positive breast cancer and discovered I was at risk for ovarian cancer so I had my breasts and ovaries removed. As the hormones left my body I found myself in menopause and was suffering from intense hot flashes that were keeping me awake all night, which was contributing to other health issues. My doctor wrote me a prescription for a non-hormonal targeted hot flash treatment. The insurance company said they would not pay for it so we sent in our first appeal through my oncologist. They had to explain my condition to the insurance company, and the necessity for non-hormonal hot flash treatment. The insurance company said no again and we continued with further appeals which were all rejected. After each appeal is rejected you receive a letter in the mail saying why it was rejected and telling you the medications that they will cover that they suggest I take. They listed three medications all of which are hormones. Hormones which would kill me. There's not a person I can talk to that I can reason with and explain. There's a system that keeps giving us the same answer over and over. I pay for a gold plan, out of pocket, through our state Health Care Exchange. The cost is $1,400 a month for my family of four. My medication is $600. Make it make sense? I have a ton of stories about my experiences with health insurance including the fact that I didn't have it for years, as a protest against the health insurance industry. Kaiser Permanente made me almost commit Luigicide. Not a joke but I won't go into the details. I was uninsured until I was diagnosed with cancer then the threat from the healthcare providers of chemo bankrupting me forced me back into the system. I've since found out that they can reject certain types of chemo for people and my oncologist nurse have seen people die waiting to get their chemo approved. Even with the gold plan I still had to pay a percentage of everything including my necessary tests and my double mastectomy I'm still getting bills from random people involved with my surgery. I live in Washington State and I'm happy to chat with anyone about my experience.

you can think whatever you want about ken and taylor, but putting them in the same category as elon musk and donald trump is wild
soph
I think a lot of Americans, regardless of political affiliation, feel abandoned by the government and mainstream media, which have been poisoned by corporate blood money. That environment seems to incentivize people to look past the crimes committed by people who politically align with them. I feel like a lot of people riding hard for Luigi maybe wouldn't be so invested if they felt healthcare reform was actually an issue the government was taking seriously at all.

Channel 5 spreading truth again — keep it up y’all!

Am I the only one that hates this guy? Whenever there's an absolutely horrible, crude, straight up factually incorrect, callous, antisocial, borderline sadistic thing to tweet, you can count on Ken Kilppenstein, Taylor Lorenz, Elon Musk, or Donald Trump to tweet that thing. Thankfully I left Twitter long ago

Ken is a fantastic journalist. They don’t make many like him anymore

Ken is such a great journo!! Rly glad to see the meeting of two very respected journalist minds!

Luigi is becoming a folk hero because he is fighting injustice, not in the best way, but in the only way he felt could make a difference.

You and the team are crushing it! Great information that’s very pertinent to the world right now that’s not being covered.

I really liked the point Ken made (paraphrasing) about how no one seems to bat an eye at people making a mockery of this guys death, as if a wild uprising is more plausible than investigating why some don’t see the murder as wrong
