38:20 This guy is exactly the kind of liberal that MLK warned everyone about. Capitalism demands (and gets) slave labor, has destroyed the environment, and still wants more. There is enough for everyone, but capitalism, as an economic scheme, demands that not everyone gets enough. Don't say socialism isn't reasonable. It may not be what you want, but don't look down on people who refuse to support the system using child slavery to increase profits.

I liked the old format better where the people who the story was about told it. Lava is a cringy weirdo. I get that you’re trying to be funny and throw some humor in there but I think I’m getting more out of listening to democracy now. A news show in my humble opinion should be about the news and less about the personality of the host. If you don’t go back to the old reporting format I’ll probably spend my 5$ a month somewhere else. You got me through the pandemic but now I just don’t really feel it like I used to.

1:12:17 are we really sure that white people being able to get away with more crime is the reason that black trans women die more than white trans women? i’m not denying that white folks get away with more, that’s objectively valid. but i’m doubting that that’s the main reason why Dallas is the most dangerous place for a trans woman of color. as a dallas resident, i feel like there’s something to be said about homophobia in the black community.

chill dude, Amsterdam has some of the best urban planning in the world and has much better mobility for disabled ppl since there are bike paths that take you everywhere, instead of 10 lane highways

He's the one out being a prick because he is too afraid to drive a vehicle. "People are dumb" he says. "Foot traffic is going to be better for businesses than cars" he says LoL I guess I can get rid of my weekly food deliveries. How in the F am I even supposed to eat without driving? I've eaten out a million times over the years and the vast majority of consumers parked in the lot. In the city. I used my car to go hiking or camping the wilderness regularly, alone. My brother sold his Sig AR15 to buy my niece a car and she still cannot/will not learn to drive in her 20's. And Amsterdam is a walkable city? Yeah but have you even tried driving their crappy circular roads to begin with? I have.
