After more than eight weeks in the oven, this release of SHS is definitely a lot longer than the average episode we had for Double Homework! The reason it took a bit longer than we originally expected was because we prepared a few surprises…
Animations
We hear you. In the survey we ran a few months ago, a lot of players let us know that they’d like to see animations in our games. It wasn't an easy quest, but we managed to make a full animated sex scene. This scene also has a completely new style. The idea is to bring something that doesn’t feel like a linear slideshow: now you’ll be able to choose what you want to do, and the dialogue between the MC and the counterpart progresses accordingly.
[SPOILER] Even if you are not that interested in Emily (the MC’s ex), please go through her route and give the scene a try. We really want you all to experience the new format we are developing and give us feedback so our next scenes are even better! By the way, don’t worry, the choices you need to make to get laid with her are very obvious. Feedback is very important to us with this release, so please feel free to leave some below or preferably in #constructive-feedback on our Discord server.
Exploration & Gameplay
Although we consider SHS a traditional visual novel, we have expanded further into the possibility of having free exploration in certain areas. You should be able to go to several locations at different times, and this will affect your quest and give you different interactions with the characters you find. Please let us know how you like this mechanic.

Update V0.2.1
This version introduces some tweaks and improvements, plus smoother animations for the sex scene. It also brings the release of the macOS and Android builds.
macOS
We have figured out a better way of installing the game on Mac by using a DMG file. Unzip the game and double click Install Shale Hill Secrets.dmg. Then, drag and drop the app to the Applications folder and replace the old one.
Android
After downloading the file, open the APK file and select "update". You don't need to uninstall the previous build manually.
- You need to know how to change the device settings so it accepts installing apps outside of the Google Play store. It's difficult to give proper advice on how to do this since the option can have different names depending on the device language, branding, ROM and version. Here’s a guide that can help.

tbh I love that the toaster is a reoccurring character in all three of the games. makes me laugh every time it's brought up.

I.... dont love this series.. i know its early going and thats why i'm going to stick with it but after binge playing DH i cant help but feel theres something missing.. I fell in love with the characters of Johanna and Tamara as well as the supporting cast but the characters here just dont have that same level of interest at least atm.. as i said tho i will stick with it as its early days and know every story will have its own adapting time..

I really like the development of the story (suspense!) - I liked the sex scene (only one in this release though). Considering its format: you might add the choice buttons to the animation page, so that one can switch between fast/slow etc seamlessly. Please create a character page with pictures and info on all acquaintances/relationships of the MC.

Gotta say though. I wasn't shocked by the ending... After the earlier in-game discussion, figuring out who Craven was emailing with was quite easy. Predictable even... I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Just figured you were going for shock value... 🤷🏻♂️

the story is amazing so far keep it up guys. i love new implimintations also!
The story is super exciting and the whole thing with the decisions is amazing! But I don't think the decisions about sex are that good. I found the other games super exciting to find out how the act takes place and what happens. Like the first scenes here, before it started. Now you have the choice between different foreplays and positions, in my opinion a lot of individuality is lost and I think it repeats itself very quickly. I would have preferred to be guided through it with a story instead of clicking through all possible options to see what it looks like ;-) And the animations themselves are somehow a medium break, but I can live with that. ;-) But are also well done!

i love that. Being able to manage the progress of the story (choose where to go, and in what order) is pleasant. The animation of the sex scenes is very successful, and exciting. As for the foreplay, why not add an excitement gauge? Or something like that. And dante ... oh my god, he's the best character in the game!

For DFD and DH the artist was the same. For SHS we wanted to experiment with something a tad different... I wouldn't say we were aiming for an anime look, but maybe a bit more cartoon.

Hi there, I'm writing from my Mac as I test the game here :) There were changes in the engine we haven't fully tested on Mac due to time constrains and I have a policy of not releasing anything unless it passes our QA checks. I could have delayed the entire episode until I had both Mac and Android builds ready, but that'd be unfair to 90% of our players that play on Windows because the whole thing was already kinda late... The good thing is that Mac and Android builds will get some extra fixes and typos corrections so you will be getting an even more polished product. Sorry for the extra waiting!

I am disappointed, i didn't experience any crashes, errors or missing content. You guys really messed up :) . But i do have one pet peeve, besides the awesome episode . Could you if possible, if there are more then one character talking. Have them turn their head or face towards the one speaking?, it looked a bit odd to have both Linus and Valery face the main character when talking to each other. It kinda looked like they where divorced or enemies and just refused to look at the other person..
I wasn't expecting that surprise near the end, but oh man that was well played. Completely unexpected, and completely hilarious. You had me stifling my laughter cause I didn't wanna wake my roommate up! That was awesome, guys. Great work so far, it's got me even more interested than Ep.1 did.
