The people who made the Borderlands movie are the perfect example of people who don't understand why people like the games. You take the gameplay away, and the humor and writing is not going to go far at all. It's the same kind of thing that all bad video game to movie/TV adaptations fall into.

I will say I'm glad they stuck to roland being the serious character but Kevin Hart being roland is an absolute garbage choice. imo they should have just made an animated movie with the voice actors and it maybe would have done so much better. Played borderlands for years since the beginning and I love them (minus pre sequel) and I couldn't even bring myself to see this movie
