Revisiting this and losing it over the quiz nose, goalies, and the scion hamsters

Listening to this podcast exactly one week later, hearing about CosMcs the same week Taco Bell announces their Live Mas Cafe!

on the other hand, the "Fa la la let's get fucked up" bag is somehow my least favorite part of the whole slideshow because it DOESN'T scan. It needs one more "la."

Quiznos spongmonkeys are a core memory from my childhood. Probably explains a lot of issues I have, but they were so weird. I bring them up often and no one has a goddamn clue what I'm talking about.

Hey real quick, can we get a picture of Mike and Jason dressed up like The Wet Bandits?
Jessica Pearson
From MumMum and PupPup to Nut Barrels to Baked Alaska Dances - one of the worlds greatest tangents!
Theresa
Does Mike know about this? https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/x-men-the-x-mansion-76294

Just when I think Jason can’t surprise us anymore, we get three-foot-tall nut barrel with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop. 😂
Don Bell
Mike was in a Spencer’s Gifts “fairly recently”??
Kate I.
I remember both the Scion hamsters and Quiznos rats...and I'm not proud of either.
Hayley Penso
Jason is the Patron Saint of Commercial Entities that Haunt Children I haven’t thought about the hamsters driving the cars since I was a child that was scared this meant they were introducing human sized hamsters and giving them cars to boot.
Marc Gannon
Can’t say I did. Guess there weren’t any swingers on that cruise.
Luis Misiara
Joel Veitch is the man behind the Spongmonkeys. He used to run a fantastic flash animation website called "Rather Good" long before the Quiznos stuff. He's currently a podcaster (among other things), so I imagine he'd be delighted to be a guest on the Spongmonkeys episode!
Ashley Beltran
Did you see any pineapples on/outside any cabin doors?
Annie
This episode was pure indulgent mayhem and such a treat. One of my faves of the Scott-free era
clayzulah
Anxiously awaiting the dedicated Spongmonkeys episode 🙏
Heather Fattorosi
The Spirit Christmas/Halloween in Brick was also a Christmas Tree Shop! I wonder if they moved into all the former Christmas Tree Shops across the state.
Skyler Fortune
was really hoping for a “annual pineapple injuries in the usa” look up teased
Ian Sweeney
Wow! The Mays Landing Spirit Christmas is minutes from my house. Fun fact about that physical location: prior to its holiday transformation, it was a general department store called “Christmas Tree Shops”

The mention of Scion Gerbils was giving me serious “triggered nerd” energy. It’s Kia and Hamsters, damn it!
Aaron Abolt
Future unlock candidate imo. This was a holiday delight!

We’re all a little bit worse off for knowing this exists.

The Prancer the dancer sweater is beautiful

Justice for Jason!!! I also have mush mouth where all words run together, including my own name

I used to work in the toy industry in NJ(a redemption supplier and briefly at Toys r Us corporate in the final days). Spencer Gifts is headquartered in Egg Harbor Township, I’ve worked with a few people from there over the years, but most people stay at Spencers corporate forever. They’ve probably had the same guy writing the sayings for the last 30 years lol they need to hire Mike!
Kate Malo
The Sour Patch Kids commercial does creep me out.
Kate Malo
Agreed!!!

My parents had one of these "nut barrels". It was pretty wide and about a foor or so tall. We had all the metal tools as well. It usually got put out for Thanksgiving and would get refill through the New Year. My dad would eat out if it all weekend at times!
Amy Patrick
Bummed to hear it is just kind of Spencer’s does Xmas. When I heard the concept I was hoping it would be more like the Halloween stores with interactive elements and licensed stuff and more generally like an event.
Jonathon Pernisek
Jason: (inhales) / Mike: Whoah, whoah, whoah, WAIT, hold ON. WHAT did you just say, Jason? I have NO idea what you're talking about. No, stop, be quiet. WHAT? You are so WEIRD, Jason.
Blake Hanrath
Can we get a Mike does your checking for a day Patreon tier yet?
Kendall Balchan
Desperately need the “Santa got run over by a cybertruck…go fuck yourself.” T shirt

Michael with the dynamite hack my god
torgo1985
I snort-laughed at “It’s beginning to look a lot like fuck this.” I like it, it scans
Breanna
Yes!

Went on a cruise earlier this year. Unfortunately, no midnight buffet anymore and they no longer light the baked Alaska on fire (which is understandable as fire and boats don’t really go together). I got to cruise in the 90s like Jason, so I remember both of those things well and missed them this time around.
Ben
Any chance we can get the full keynote with background images intact? Release the Sheridan cut?
AW
I know the Sour Patch Kids commercials and the Kia commercials with hamsters that Jason is talking about.
Chelsea G
The sour patch kids! First they’re sour, then they’re sweet. I feel like I’ve seen those ads on Hulu?
Introcourse
Most offensive to me is the "Horny and Lit" sweater. Antlers and horns are completely different. I'd, of course, trust no one wearing any of these items, but the person wearing that sweater I would trust the least.
Lauryn
Thanks for awakening my repressed horrifying memories of the Quiznos Spongmonkeys.
@NachoHelmet
Going to try my best to enjoy the episode despite current world event:s: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/goo-goo-dolls-postpone-tour-dates-john-rzeznik-pneumonia-1235187125/

Was the North Pole dancer the reindeer NAMED Dancer? (Like Dasher and Dancer.) Does that make the joke work at all?
Kyle Lindas
Oogie Boogie is essentially a giant burlap sack, so brown. He’s fluorescent green when he glows under the black light
Shane Griest
This is at least the second discussion of Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop. As a Pennsylvania boy who had a Mom-Mom, I love it!!
jjjj
I know the cgi sour patch kids and I HATE them
Paul O'Regan
The horny monster movie Jason is trying to think of is SPLICE.
Agustin Macias
Oh yeah…Spirit Christmas. Forgot about that announcement earlier in the year. Have yet to see one in the LA area. UPDATE: No wonder I have yet to see one, there’s only 10 of them and they are all in the east coast.
Burton Olivier
This Christmas cover art should be on the teepublic shop
