My theory is that the "click-click" is their acknowledgement that using a real Magic Key requires you to click (multiple times) on the website to make a park reservation
Jess Neville
Is it just me, or does Duckey look an awful lot like Orange Bird?

So I recently repurchased my child plush duck, also named ducky, and for some reason seeing this duckey play in the miniatures made me cry and now I firmly believe I would take a bullet for this little freak.

I have to say, this is such an odd episode for me. I've been called Ducky since '99. I've never heard my name on a podcast so many times...

A systematic theology of Duckey

He also did a trip report from Port Orleans a number of years ago, which I highly recommend watching. Your day will not be ruined, and you will not experience immeasurable disappointment.

Mikes getting really into buying Molly? So much for good boys….

I guffawed hideously at the reveal that the video is 80 seconds long.
Alexa Smith
I’m glad The Key of Awesome duck found work again.

Oh dear, sounds like Duckey may need investigating for iron deficiency

This episode is 100% the ROI a second/third gate subscriber looks forward to.

PS, Mike, you are 100% correct about protecting the name of an existing product/service by giving its new version a totally different name. Done all the time to avoid the “New Coke” problem.

There were weapons of a sort at WDW during the heyday of Great Movie Ride. Every day, one senior CM who played a gangster or bandit had to wheel a lockbox of revolvers from the security office to the ride and back.

Why not a cartoon anthropomorphic key? If someone swallows a key, I assume they’re making sure I can never gain access to what incriminating evidence lies beyond the door.
Ben
Please tell me Mike is aware of Reviewbrah, aka Report of the Week. He dresses in vintage clothing and does fast food reviews. I’m surprised he wasn’t the first “Internet guy” mentioned.
Fiona
lol, the comments on that post are *grumpy*

Interesting, didn’t know it’s connected to OCD! I know sometimes it’s caused by nutritional deficiencies (but the things people crave don’t always contain the nutrient they need) and sometimes it starts during pregnancy.
Jessica
Okay, all of this talk of internet people dressing up in whimsical retro clothing reminded me of the pixyland.org guy. Any fellow olds remember this guy? It was in our HomeStar Runner days.
Evan
My exact first thought was, “don’t they already have a duck?” Hilarious episode :)
David Ganssle
Fred Melamed was my father-in-law's roommate when they were younger so I get a little extra giddy every time he's brought up.
Ben
I think the lock makes the click, not the key. At least in my experience with old style doors.
Garlicnaut
Only after you hang them upside down and cover them with orange sauce.

There’s dozens of us 😂

More Logic Policing: I watched the video and Duckey's body appears to transform after he swallows the Magic Key. He looks like a keyhole, so I think on some level he's absorbed both the key and its powers. Duckey IS the key, which makes it easy for him to traverse the parks. This is all agitprop for embedded microchips or something similar.
Molly
Did anyone else expect Griffin to bust in with Taffer 2 on this one?! 🤣

While the Magic Key name is new for annual passes, the name comes from Walt's Magic Key that was a skeleton key that was cut for only him and as I recall could open any door on Main Street. So Duckey's Magic Key could have come from Walt way in the past and also contributed to his longevity.
Hannah Wilson-Nikolich
I have unironically been wondering if Mike was into Pop Mart for months now
Steven Ray Morris
Do ducks have taste? 🤔
Steven Panzarella
I imagined who dropped the magic key as the same bit as who is Eric Cartmans father. Is it Chapek? Iger? Lassiter? The Denver Broncos?

Also my ears perked up at another Harbor Hoedown mention

The duck eats the key jason says "that's pika!" made me think he was talking like a Mexican mom "don't eat that it's pica (spicy)"
Jordan Pfluger
All hail our lovecraftian demigod of the key, Duckey... may his 70 year reign over the kingdom of the west coast be everlasting in the name of our avian overlord we pray. "Oh lord of questionable discounts please forgive us for our sins of frivolity and grant us passage yet again, A-Men"
Griffin
Chuckoo feels like a threat
Andrew Ross
Y’all never been vibing so hard you just started eating magic keys? No? Just me and Duckey? Alright then.
Shane Griest
When you know that your friend loves self-published clown literature, you know that you’re close
Kyle Lindas
I need Jason to say “shoot out of his cloaca” once an episode from now on
Max Graves
i have a friend who struggles with pica, and for many years she compulsively ate gravel and small rocks. in her case it's apparently caused by a form of ocd. it's a more common problem than you might expect.
Paul Humphreys
Thank you!!!! Duckey was hiding from me

Have the good boys made this up? I can find zero evidence of duckey

First! You'll understand what I'm talking about in a second.
