Daniel Dietzel

Absolutely floored neither Mike nor Scott have even heard of Shuddup You Face. Surely Jason knows it?

Tony Bataska

I had the record and loved it as a kid

Kelly L McCubbin

I just thought of another one! "Another Brick in the Wall Part Two!" Pink Floyd tries Disco, makes subject what entirely. It's still fascinating.

Erik Adams

Extreme P:TR Crossover Alert: A Google search for fill-in Donald James Tadevic brings up… a Deadly Games thumbnail. Apparently after he was done at Disney, Tadevic spotted locations for Jackal Land!

Kyle Lindas

As a New Found Glory fan, Scott’s impression was spot on.

Mark Rodriguez

Im a voice teacher I can show you guys how to do Donald STEP BY STEP!!

Damon Rehl

I always got Watch Out for Goofy and You Can Always Be Number One(Sport Goofy theme )mixed up.

Bgprobably

immediately not hearing Shaddup your face when the song started was so funny

clayzulah

Please never stop doing album review episodes, they are unfailingly amazing (also please do a dedicated Shaddap You Face ep)

Isabel Deslauriers

I am SO pumped about a Mousercise episode coming up in the future!!! I had been plotting all fall about how to get it in the Club 3 poll after an unsuccessful attempt last year. Asking myself what the ideal time of year would be to submit it... gathering up evidence of why this would make a great episode... waiting for the right mix of opponents... one thing was for sure, I knew I shouldn't resubmit it until Scott was back as it has Scott written all over it, starting with the graphic design :) I can't wait for an episode on this exercise music that played as much of a part in my childhood at our annual visit to the parks !!! (And that I still use as a musical backdrop when I need extra motivation at my desk job haha)

Kelly L McCubbin

I 100% did not say that! I LOVE Silly Love Songs! What I said was that it was trying to be disco-ish and, instead of that, became an entirely new thing.

Chris Tar

I'm offended you think Silly Love Songs is a failure

John Lagomarsino

Pepino is an Italian mouse, not a chipmunk! https://youtu.be/V57hP7Ipjw4?si=jBMhTUQBLrqPI6Oa

Ryan Brodsky

You gotta hear the Eurobeat remix of Macho Duck! It was made for Toyko Disneyland’s para para events. You guys need to have Chris from TDR explore on to talk about it he knows so much about it

Lobo

❤️Thank you for mentioning her. The Madame/Solid Gold connection is not discussed enough here

Lobo

Re: Green Acres sample. The One Song podcast is worth listening to Also fans of Lords of Synth type stuff I highly recommend his co-hosts Diallo Riddle, tv show Sherman's Showcase. It’s a fun tribute/parody of shows like Soul Train.

Anthony Borsellino

Shaddup You Face is a Joe Dolce song. Growing up in an Italian American family it comes up a lot. I don’t what on earth was played on the podcast but the actual video deserves to be talked about by the guys because it’s pretty insane https://youtu.be/sFacWGBJ_cs?si=P7YT8KbtzVrX1lv8

Fiona

Scott’s exactly right about Mickey’s Christmas Carol being the first Mickey animation in a long time. It’s discussed in Stephen Anderson’s book Disney In-Between, about the years between Walt’s death and Eisner’s reign. Pretty good book! There’s a hilarious comparison between the miserable experience of working on The Black Cauldron and the much more pleasant Christmas Carol, as both were worked on at the same time. Being transferred to Christmas Carol was seen as a demotion, but people loved working on it.

Brandon Bowyer

I know Techno Chim Chim Cher-ee from Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix https://youtu.be/Y5oMxeEgNM0

Lobo

The Beyond Yacht Rock guys called non disco people doing disco as a cash grab “Disco Dips”

Kendall Balchan

Another must listen cover: Goofy singing “I’m Blue (Da Ba Dee) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXKQ6t0UPdU

Lobo

being a kid of the 70’s/80’s who was raised by gay men I have such a deep love for disco. From Donna’s Moroder stuff and my beloved Sylvester to the ridiculously cheesy (more often horrible ) cash grab crap I love most all of it. I have listened to the I Love Lucy disco 45 in the afternoon and went to a concert featuring the iconic Martha Wash in the evening.

Codename Vox

That’s the one I’m sure they were going to end up listening to on the album.

Mandel

This was one of the first albums I got as a kid...so glad you guys did an ep about it! The Greatest Band is one of my all-time faves. BTW...that song you played at the end was not Shaddup Your Face. It probably was mislabeled. You need to hear the original Joe Dolce version. You could not escape it on the radio in the early 80s when I was growing up! (I think he even showed up on Solid Gold doing this one...but not sure if there was a Madame crossover...) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFacWGBJ_cs

Spencer Fairclough

Ive never heard of anyone talk about this official Disney Company French album from 1984. The artwork in the albums gatefold is remarkable! https://www.discogs.com/release/4796711-Douchka-Douchka

Hana W.

Okay but I genuinely like Mayday Parade's cover of Remember Me. We need the A Whole New Sound episode asap!!

Hana W.

Thank you for sharing this, I didn't know about this one!

Norma

Shaddap you face is a song about being a good boy

Kelly L McCubbin

I was listening and shaking my head. Did the boys never listen to Dr. Demento, for heaven's sakes?

John Hayes

It's really beautiful how often Scott and Mike talk about Jason when he isn't around, he's like if Poochie actually was an essential part of Itchy and Scratchy

alatina thucklemuggin

If you're going to go down this road, how a hard hitting deep dive into "kids bop"?

Kelly L McCubbin

I think there's a genre - and we should come up with a name for it - where an established band tries to play something outside of their regular style of music, fails to get it right, but produces something interesting anyway. I think that "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones, "Here Comes the Night" by The Beach Boys, "Shakedown Street" by The Grateful Dead, "Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney, "I Was Made for Loving You" by KISS, both "Heart of Glass" and "Rapture" by Blondie are all this kind of thing. It's like putting 2 genres together that don't mix at all and, miraculously, coming up with an entirely new third genre!

Kelly L McCubbin

Chipmunk Punk > Mickey Mouse Disco

Hunter Momenee

Talk about great reveal silly love songs so funny

Paul O'Regan

Club 3 on Joe Dolce now.

Brent Silveria

I’m good friends and worked for years with the man who built the pew drum

Kristi Stokes

Also unfortunately as a second generation 3rd eye blind and goo goo dolls fan, mikes daughter will always love that awful music

Jake Carey

Then again I may have been the exact target audience

Jake Carey

Me crying in the corner because I presaved A Whole New Sound after Magnolia Park dropped I2I

Kristi Stokes

My mom got to meet disco duck in elementary school!! Apparently she woke up late and had an absolute melt down about missing him so my grandma had to drive like a mad woman to get her there before his performance was over lmao.

Becca Gilgan

"Here Comes the Night" is an incredible song, and I can't wait to annoy and confuse my siblings when I inevitably put it on at the next family get-together.

Fronk

Definitely not kidding, at first I thought the macho Man yall were talking about out was Randy savage’s rap album where he dis tracked Hogans lame ass.

QUAGLE GAGLE

Oh Mousepack's genuinely really cute

QUAGLE GAGLE

Please do La Vida Mickey at some point. Those albums are such a fever dream that the fact there are 2 of them still is wild. I'm dying to hear the hot takes about Disney's Mambo Number 5 https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_ns5sDBplNqVI92hIDs2v6ORR-O0DRW1bI&si=rpOHy_kmLnfbOQ2p

Gina Boleaga

Macho man DOES slap and we should all say it more

BansheeNeet

Jason absolutely screaming at his phone that you guys don’t know Shaddup You Face

edward jenkins

Here's the correct Irwin x Peppino, Shaddap You Face video: https://youtu.be/BjU81Egj67o?si=m_HN4FGSbOCf4Zgv

edward jenkins

half the Irwin x Peppino are mislabeled. Shaddap is under Yes, we have no bananas

torgo1985

A third disco duck has hit the podcast Peter Pan Records also put out a record of the “Popeye the Sailor Man” song. No, not that one: https://youtu.be/WT_yPW78uwA?si=4jvl5dYYnUli-OC5

Evan

The youtube video has it wrong! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcGiAx_nN_g It's "Funiculi, Funicula" not "Shut up you face". I'm surprised Mike didn't catch it because apparently there's a version of Funiculi Funicula on "Italiannette".

Scaramanga

I was certain they were going to play this one. Shaddap You Face - Joe Dolce https://youtu.be/sFacWGBJ_cs?feature=shared

Chad H

which one?

Chad H

Another album for a future episode - The Mousepack: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kzL8nCSsgNtAU3m3Kk3G9pS0EADq5xh3A "Mickey and friends singing classic standards" Donald's take on One For My Baby is transcendent.

Key Fin

I guess this is a piece of nostalgia for me. I'm sorry they didn't like it. Oof that hurt. 🙁

Tyler Rampley

I’m going to be honest I kinda like ‘A whole new sound’! Is it good? No of course not, aside from the Mayday Parade song that one is legitimately good, but I like it! My family likes it! I’m the exact target audience for this crap and I don’t care that it’s bad they still got me. It’s actually neat to finally be old enough for my nostalgia to be profitable.

David

Hatred of Disney’s creative bankruptcy transcends political parties. It’s just apart of being a good American 🦅🦅🦅🎇🎆🦅🦅🦅

Codename Vox

You guys know you played the wrong song, right?

Shane Griest

As a little kid, “Watch Out for Goofy!” was my absolute favorite song. Sometimes, I’m reminded that I’m quite a bit older than The Good Boys.

MacGregorr

Based on the boys' reactions, is that last one not mainstream in the US ? It's an all-timer problematic anthem in the UK

MacGregorr

Oh to be a boomer parent of the 80s, on a long drive with the family, turning the tape your children picked to to be met on the back cover with the words disco duck, silly love songs, written by neil sedaka and shaddap you face (chipmunk version)

Miguel Cordero

Haven't heard the episode yet, but here's hoping the boys do their unhinged Mickey impression to the tune of "Do the Hustle"
