I agree on Palpatine. He’s a complete and total psychopath with no empathy for anyone but himself, but he really is one of the most brilliant and conniving characters in all of fiction and it’s difficult not to admire at some points. And yes, you are absolutely correct that Palpatine was trying to feed Anakin’s jealousy.

I think if I saw my wife getting handsy with a dude she says is “just a friend.” Im going to have the same reaction. Justifiable crash-out from Anakin. Then for Padme to play the victim card is why I wasn’t a fan of her in this arc.
