I checked that too and the captions were the same on both that’s why I was confused and figured maybe Alex’s was just different but then when they asked if thanos was a rapper he saw that but on the subtitles it didn’t mention he was a rapper it just said “hey you’re thanos right” which is how I knew he had the same subs as me they were just different on screen. Idk. It’s not that big of a deal at all I just couldn’t focus lol.

I think having the guy who won in the games is another layer and sets up dissension among the group. Although he didn't tell them that if they vote to go out they'll get a chance to go back in. 456B won is just over 3.1M USD. The symbols represent the hierarchy of the guards. And based on their hierarchy it determines what duties and responsibilities they have. Circle are the low level guards and square are the top level guards. The top level guards don't get their hands dirty. I agree with you the pacing just adds to the tension and I'm have to keep reminding myself to breathe.

The items the contestants are worried about at the beginning reflect a lot of the current society. Player 390 is Gi-hun's friend that we met at the horse track racing business in the beginning of S1. Wtf no the guards did not kill whoever they wanted. If they moved, they got shot. Player 246 is from the theme park, the little girl's dad. If you haven't done the additional episodes past Ep4, you need to switch to the "English" not "English [CC]" for the subtitles. The translations are more accurate.

Right. I pretty much had it figured out on my own but I like to know for sure. I didn't know the letters spelled out Squid Game in Korean. That was interesting. It's always better to have a clear definition of things for me.

I watch a lot of reactors and I do think not picking up on how korean names work is pretty common. I think there is also something about reading the subtitles and not active listening. Im really used to active listening to korean because ive been casually studying it for years. I really dont expect others to pick up on, for example, how 'Hyung' is said more than their actual names lol (probably also not helping people pick up on names).

There is a difference between the two types of subtitles in English: "English" vs "English (CC)" . The first option is the closer translation. I learned that mistake when watching season 1.

I know a lot of people have trouble remembering the names in this show (and korean shows in general if they arent avid drama watchers) but his last name is Seong. His first name is Gi-hun (gee-hoon). But I know many reactors choose to refer to the characters based on comfortability lol. Not a critique but thought you might want to know.

I don't know if it ever clearly states the meaning of the mask shapes or not but it's a hierarchy. It drove me crazy not knowing in Season 1 so I educated myself. Circle is the lowest rank. They're responsible for basic tasks like cleaning, serving meals, and removing bodies. They cannot speak unless ordered by a superior. Triangle is the mid-level rank. They're act as policemen or security. They can order contestants, enforce rules, and remove players. Square is the highest rank. They're report directly to the Front Man. They also order and supervise other ranks. Also the shapes have a connection to the Korean alphabet. The circle stands for O, triangle stands for J, and square stands for M. Together as OJM, they're the initials of the Korean name for Squid Game, Ojingeo Geim. Thanks for the reaction!

Yeah no I totally understand that but I’m so used to the subs on Netflix because I’ve watched the show so many times that it was hard for me to watch with just his reaction so I was trying to figure out why his subs were COMPLETELY different than mine.

After syncing mine up, Alex was reading the subtitles that Netflix provides. Why the subs are different in the post I have no idea but if it bothered you like me just sync it up with your own copy. Because almost every line is different. 🤍
