My first step into anime was Sword Art Online. Since then, I've watched nothing but animes. Probably over 50 by now since a lot of them only had 1 season of 12, 20-minute episodes, but just cuz an anime doesn't have more episodes/seasons than that doesn't mean it's bad. Another anime I really liked was "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon."

Yeah book 3 is still my favorite so many arch’s that have been building since episode on has there conclusion. And technically avatar isn’t anime but a lot of it’s style is heavily based on anime.

On anime, I recommend starting with FMA:B then going to Attack on Titan afterwards. Counting Avatar as your first, it's good to order them by increasing intensity and darkness. FMAB is a step up from Avatar, and AoT steps it up from FMAB.

If you’re gonna watch anime, mob psycho 100 is a good place to start. It’s relatively short, is brutally funny, but also full of so much love. It’s visually stunning both in terms of art and animation, and Doesn’t sexualize children, which is always a win for me lol

I respect you, because you're a bane fan, but wouldn't you agree that blatantly telling him that Azula is not an aweful person is a spoiler? "in Season 3 you'll see" is enough to mark it as a spoiler. It might not be a huge one, but it's something hes gonna discover himself by watching the show.

Alex S3 is where you should really pay attention to Azula's mental state because it does come into play..The show makes Azula out to be an awful person but she's only like that because of their father. In Season 3 you'll see Azula actually does care about Zuko.

The finales for each season only gets better as the show progresses. I would highly suggest watching Attack on Titan whenever you get the chance. It got me into anime and it honestly might be the best piece of media that I've ever seen. Give it a watch and you'll be hooked after the first 5-10 episodes.

The Guru is my favorite episode of all time. This episode is the reason why I started meditating. The quote "In order to be a positive influence on to others, you need to forgive yourself." helped me out so much. There’s so many great messages in that episode.

Little detail I love: in the end, Zuko did actually take Iroh's advice rather than Azula's. Right before his choice, Iroh says Zuko needs to think about what he truly wants in his heart. The answer is he just truly wants his father to love him, which is why he ends up choosing Azula's side despite Iroh being on the other side.

Unfortunately, there are almost no other animes that are written as well as avatar, but there are several shows that come pretty close she-ra and the princesses of power is a really really well written series cowboy bebop is an incredible anime series. Steven universe is a good series. Owl House is a good series. You already watched clone wars that’s a really good series, but the bad batch is another really good series Star Wars rebels is an excellent series. Legend of Korra is another good series. Honestly, they’re just so many good shows it’s hard to really rate them they’re just all really good.

I don't know if Attack on Titan would be a good intro to anime for Alex. The first year of episodes are pretty dry and slow to get going. It's amazing after that, but takes a bit of a slog to get through. I'd recommend something easier to get into, like Sword Art Online or Solo Leveling. Oh! And I may be a minority, but I LOVE Tokyo Ghoul season 1 and 3. 2 was a weird one, but it did come back together before the end of it.

Zuko and Azula are the best written characters both with mental trauma. It's not often that female characters are written very well in series.

I know Dave Feloni wasn't involved at this point, but you have to admit Aang running away from the Guru before his training was complete is fairly similar to how Luke Skywalker ran away from Yoda before his training was complete. Both instances had to do with attachment.
