A small detail I always kinda love in this episode is just how much Katara trusts Aang. She trusts him so much that she wasn’t even going to bother deflecting that attack from that fire bender. She just knew Aang would protect her. It’s a subtle, but sweet detail imo. Aang always has Katara’s back 🥹🫶

So difficult. Zuko IS the best character. Sokka is literally me. Iroh is so good I might get my first tattoo ever of one of his lines despite multiple medically documented losses of vision and near loss of consciousness at the sight of a needle. But I think I’m agreeing with Alex hear by saying Toph is the character I am most happy to see and hear every time she’s on screen or does something badass.

The painted lady couldn’t come and help them out because the river was polluted due to the factory so once they cleaned the river she was finally able to come back. That’s my theory anyway

The idea is that The Painted Lady is the spirit of that river, but because it was so polluted, she couldn’t help them. Her power is connected to the river, and because of the pollution she wasn’t strong enough to do anything.

Yeah they do a great job at showing how a couple bad people from one nation dont make everyone in and from that nation bad people. And same goes for the other elements like the Dai Li and Ba Sing Se as a whole being messed up. Something i kinda wish they would have done more in HP especially the movies where they kinda make you feel that Slytherin always =evil. But then they kinda make up for it in the epilogue but yeah thats something this show is amazing at doing.

In pretty sure the painted lady didn't help the village before was because the river was no longer pure or blue, and the pollution hindered her from giving the help that the village needed

What I love about this show is that every nation is given such a vivid personality trait that matches with all the rest, I agree totally that Kyoshi would have been like Toph, or that they would have gotten along so much better
