Not gonna lie, the Rebels reaction was kind of the reason I became a patreon! Not many people react to it and it is my favorite Star Wars show. Now I get to watch your takes evolve with the show and hear your silly jokes! :) I love the plotline, the characters, the found family of it all! Clone Wars is good, the later season in particular are fire, but I didn't grow up watching it so I don't have that attachment. I watched Rebels as an adult and I feel it resonated more that way. I am not sure it is fair to compare the two series, actually. They don't have the same function in the SW universe or the same format. CW is a collection of stories about characters we know and Rebels is a story about new characters. Anyway, thanks for this, your reactions are gonna be a comfort to me. Peace!

I liked Clone Wars more but they are different things. As a kid I couldn't get into Rebels but watching it now that I am older I enjoy it as a good show. When I was a kid I had certain ideas what I wanted from the Imperial/Rebel Era content from the movies and games that came out before it like SW Battlefront 2 2005 and the Rebels show didn't follow that fully so I didn't like it initially

Personally I also don't hate the animation but I do feel like it's a step back from Clone Wars. You gotta keep in mind this released after Clone Wars but the animation looks kinda like early-season CW except for the explosions. Wish it looked like season 7 CW

Fun Fact: They changed the beginning of rebels in the DisneyXD cut and added the scene with Darth Vader. In the Cartoon Network version that scene isn’t even there and it starts with Ezra looking down from the Tower

Honestly I’d say it’s close. I’d say this show is consistently solid with some big highs, but with close wars it’s a little bit more hit and miss but the hits are HITS. Rebels does have some banger content in there with probably a top3 favourite animated ark for me out of all the sw animated shows

Kanan is voiced by Freddy Prince JR (Fred from Scooby Doo). Chopper is voiced by the Director Dave Filoni and Zeb is voice by the absolute legend Steve Blum (Spike Spiegal, Wolverine, Amon and countless others!) Also, I love how they started including more graffiti and urban art in Rebels!

I remember when I first started watching rebels, I was not liking it at first and was feeling very disappointed after coming off of clone wars but goddamn, I am glad that I stuck with this series because this series has some of the best drama and just ungodly levels of cool When we get towards the end hell even the middle section and after this first beginning part are really good. The only thing that really dragged was the first few episodes and that seems to just be the norm with most series. I mean, even the clone wars dragged on this first season she-ra also had a little bit of a slow start before becoming God level hell even avatar the last Airbender had a slow first two episodes before cranking it in a high gear

Clone wars had far too many dry spells for me. I don’t even know how many attempts it took for me to get through it. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the show the development of Asoka was done very well. I like clone wars way more but I will admit I am very biased anakin is one of my favorite characters ever. Rebels actually looks a good bit better than I remember it from my first watch, it does have those Disney-isms which are a lil stinky BUT I get the feeling Dave Filoni (director) was really weaving as much coolness as he could under Disney’s jurisdiction. I’m gonna enjoy rewatching this with ya, I was a little brutal to this show on my first watch honestly and I think it had to do with somethin you mentioned I watched rebels right after clone wars and yea going from anakin as the protagonist to ezra yea it’s a bit of a jump in scenery lol

Yeah both are great I do feel that rebels hits that family feel much like atla does better than clone wars. Not saying that clone wars doesn’t have it but it’s so spread out you never really get to keep that feeling that these people are a family. As for the time line this is 13 years after revenge of the sith and 5 years before a new hope. Filling in that gap between the fall of the republic and a new hope, most of the show after this also focus on filling in that gap with a few set after return of the Jedi. Also Ezra is the same age as Luke and Leia And you’ve heard of Hera and her family before on ryloth he showed up quite abit in clone wars her was the leader of the ryloth rebellion.

He thinks the Jedi killed the love of his life and he thinks everyone bertayed him. I think that Vader and Anakin are two different people that at times, for a few seconds, cross roads.
