Another Wednesday, Another BINGE!!!! I really can't believe how much I'm loving this show! I don't know what my natural skepticism is about animated Star Wars shows where I go into it feeling like I won't enjoy it TOO much and then BAM! Right in my gooch hole. I start loving it!
This episode was super solid and the light sword (what the fuck is that!??!) battle was INSANELY COOL!
Thank you guys for voting this show in! I can't wait to continue watching it! You all are the fucking best, and I hope this video adds some positivity and some energy into your day! You guys are the best!

Anytime someone calls a lightsaber a "laser sword" in-universe, they're being sarcastic. Someone says it in the sequels too, and people tried turning that into a genuine criticism even though it's really not---it's just them not understanding sarcasm.

I mean Tbf this show is 14 years after episode 3 and the fall of the jedi. Kanan is 28 yo in rebels so he was still a padawan when the jedi were killed off so it makes sense that he is shit at teaching, he was never fully taught himself

I think you need to take into consideration that Kanaan was a padawan when order 66 happened so didn’t finish his training he’s just been on survivor mode and practicing what he learned up until then

"Laser sword" is what George Lucas originally called a lightsaber. And it seems that people in the Star Wars universe who do not have an understanding of Jedi/the Force call lightsabers "laser swords". This is seen in a few cases, the first one that I can remember is in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Little Anakin tells Qui-Gon that he saw his laser sword and that's how he knows he's a Jedi. As for who I would love to have as my Jedi Master, I would one million percent choose Ahsoka.

I dunno man, Dooku was a helluva teacher. Asajj Ventress and Savage Opress were both pretty loyal to him. Palpatine interfered because of that loyalty. And cause Palpy was a paranoid MFer.

Well to be fair that's always been the way of the Sith though it was worse during the Old Republic era Sith because multiple of weak students would turn on the Master leaving a weaker Sith as the Dark Lord of the Sith would just turn on each other which Bane fixed with The Rule Of Two

You don’t need to charge the force, it’s just physically draining and it’s especially hard when you are mid fighting, the only reason kanan is using the force here is because he doesn’t want to create a ton of noise with his lightsaber

On your question about who calls a lightsaber a laser sword, many who weren’t Jedi and just average citizens on outer rim planets called them that at least until they knew who the Jedi were. Laser swords and lightsabers are the same thing.
