HOLY SHIT. Coraline was a FUCKING BANGER!!!
I went in thinking this was gonna be some lighthearted Tim Burton knockoff claymation kids' movie, and man I was DEAD WRONG. This shit is disturbing in the best possible way. It’s weird, unsettling, and creepy as fuck... but also somehow beautiful and mesmerizing to watch? I don’t know how to explain it. This movie feels like a bad acid trip you’d still give five stars.
The animation was WILD. It was super dark! And that “Other Mother” demon spider freak? Straight up nightmare fuel!! I was watching this like, “How the hell is this for children?” Meanwhile I’m sitting here fully locked in, lowkey sweating, and questioning if I’m ever opening a tiny door in my wall again... even though I don't have one of those.
This is one of those movies that crawls under your skin and just stays there. Creepy, uncomfortable, and honestly… brilliant!

I’m not sure if other people have commented this but I will anyways. One of my favorite moments in this movie is the welcome home cake. The double cross through the O actually symbolizes a double positive making it a negative. She’s welcome, but she isn’t home. And I love that detail it’s so cool and so overlooked ❤️
