More Thoughts on Superman!
🕑 Added 2025-08-16 21:11:27 +0000 UTCI have been asked by a bunch of you guys to give more of my opinions at the end of the reactions. Obviously on YouTube, retention is the key metric, so not having a bunch of extra content is ideal, but I was planning on giving more of my thoughts about this movie after the reaction came out, like I did with Avatar: The Last Airbender, Harry Potter, Loki, etc.
Here's more of my thoughts since this is such a societal hot topic right now! I thought more thoughts on the matter was better!
Planning on including this in the reaction on YouTube to see how a video does with more thoughts at the end rather than less.
I feel like this is the movie to do it with.

I’m so late to this but it’s probably a theme that’ll be ongoing with Gunn’s universe. I think people love Cavill’s superman because of the nostalgia and the look. He genuinely does have a superhero built frame that a lot of people, especially men, gravitate towards regarding Superman. I think Snyder was exploring a different universe of superman and it’s totally okay to love it. No argument needed there. When it comes to Coren-David, I’m not typing that long name 😭, he is portraying the canon and foundations of Superman. It’s cheesy, goofier, and a lot of people who grew up on more ‘badass’ content might not like it. That’s also okay. I feel like people are being indecisive out of a fear of being judged. You can either like badass and hate cheesy, or vice versa. Fact is, you can like one or the other. You’re not obligated to liking both/disliking one. The only thing here is respect. Respecting that Superman, as a character, is closer to David’s portrayal than Cavill’s. People are being so loud about it because they expect everything to be dark, angsty, and full of heavy themes. Having an opinion shouldn’t erase facts, and they can both exist peacefully. 😭

Saw Superman movie and walked out before it finished. I did not like what James Gunn did. With crypto or was Supergirl. I went in trying to like the movie but I just couldn't.

As someone who is new to the comics David Corneswet IS Superman the hope he gives and shares feels like reading the comics again. If you like cavil more that's perfectly okay and I get that Snyder did some interesting things, but Superman is about wanting to save people and keep hope in the world, and I just feel like we were able to see this more in this story
