On a three month old post, sry) specifically wanted to mention that I have seen Jewish acquaintances criticize portrayal of Snape in all books as a sort of antisemitic stereotype often employed in children's literature - ie his sallow skin, hooked nose, all that jazz. I think it's not that often discussed bc the Banking Goblins are so much worse...
