This is two years too late but carbonating milk straight up doesn't work. The carbon dioxide reacts with lactose and becomes carbonic acid, which is one of the fermentation products of milk, making it taste spoiled

Re Milk after taste: try milk with lactase enzyme, often branded as lactose free milk. Prevents the abhorrent milk after taste, and also provides some resistance to the ravages of dairy.
