Damn, I think you're right. I'm definitely not remembering the right childhood injury I had, then. I'll have to fix that up when I do my last run-through before posting it up as a finished chapter.

Good stuff. Quick note - lead aprons aren't used for MRI's

Damm i think i might like this reincarnation/ back to beginnings story and I normally hate the genre and everything in it. Well done, i hope you write more of this :)

There were also a spate of sitcoms about this about 10 years ago specifically set in the early '80s. I think one was called the Do Over. It's very interesting, and I'll be tracking it, but I'm not sure what her goals are here. Her options for purchasing foodstuffs are in rural Kentucky to change her parents' attitude and consumption of food are limited. Their budget is limited, and she's an early teen at this juncture. It feels like she's rapidly going to crash into Sam Beckett problems.

Thanks! It's definitely going to be very different than writing AnimeCon Harem, and I think I'll be doing several-year timeskips between chapters so the context of everything going on'll be a little bit different each time.

Charles Finn

That's great. Well written, and quite a bit of stylistic difference from your other story. Good work.

Her proper name is 'Julia,' while Tabs will also affectionately refer to her as 'Julie.' Gonna use them more or less interchangeably for maximum reader confusion this time, though.

Jedi Khan

Oh, quick note. The friend that killed herself. Was her name Julie or Julia? She's first mentioned as Julia, but then towards the end it becomes Julie.

I didn't even know there were any! All You Need Is Kill and RE: Zero play on reliving the day before your death, but other than that, everything similar I've read manga-wise is reincarnation and transmigration isekai. I'd say all the inspiration is taken from personal experiences and some of the long fics up on StoriesOnline.

Jedi Khan

Interesting start. I don't suppose you've taken inspiration from some of the recent anime that resides in this "reliving the past" genre?

FortySixtyFour

Thank you. I've been really organizing my thoughts for it over the past few weeks. Want to focus on a clear dissonance between what people expect of her in this life and how she'll now speak and act.

Kyle Oathout

This is really, really good. It's a well placed narrative that is descriptive and works great as an intro. Looking forward to more!

FortySixtyFour

Thank you! Everyone I've ever talked to has secretly fantasized about redoing early portions of their life with the knowledge they have now. I've always been genuinely surprised it never seemed to take off as a popular genre.

Byroz

Seems like a very cool story, can't wait to read more.
