In most of them Emily had dark hair, and Christine had reverted to the darker brown from before. Involving their magic with one another was intimate in ways that displayed ghost after ghost of each other in a rush of reflections pressing down across each other.

...and when a black and white photograph is developed in the darkroom, it can be seen to slowly change from a blank page into blurry shapes, and then into a really detailed image. I like the photograph analogy for Christine (a lot).

"developing character" like with a photograph? She's sort of starting as a blank, other than her memory from before, and trying to sort out what is remembering how she used to be vs what she is now. (FWIW black and white film uses a lot of silver, so the photography analogy could be fun to play with given her monotone color.)

Interesting dynamic with the Christine reflection and all that. When Emily and Brian first boned she wanted him to be rough and domineering, he started off slow and sensual and turned her to putty (mostly because she never expected him to do everything he did). On the other hand Christine never expected she would enjoy anything rough and saw it as a "punishment" but then got off on him being rough. Love the dynamic this adds and how what she wants and her charm powers will play into future chapters.
