Sorry for the back and forth! I got yet another hotfix for you. This one is to correct an exception that shows up in Better Exceptions, and a minor adjustment of the price of Peyote.

Alright guys! Thanks for patiently waiting for this one. Finally I can announce this release with a new drug added to the mod, making this the 18th drug in total featured in Basemental Drugs.
This has taken quite a bit of time and effort to work on, not only due to the fact that new drugs must be tied in to a lot of other features of the mod, but also because adding a psychedelic drug that should not feel static and boring when tripping on it takes a lot of work. Not only the programming aspect of the twists and turns of a trip, but also icons and text notifications and so on and so forth. Peyote is a cactus, so the added element of growing and drying it is added to the mod, which has also been a time consuming task.
When I decided that the drying method of Peyote should be on top of a newspaper I realized that I needed to make that newspaper functional as well which added even more time to my work schedule, but I am really happy I did it as I feel stuff like this make the world feel so much more alive.

NEW DRUG - PEYOTE

Where to Find it
You can either hit up your local NPC dealer and purchase Peyote through the "LSD" tab. Peyote is rare compared to some other drugs, so it won't show up 100% of the time. If your dealer doesn't have it that day, keep trying.
Or you can order it through the Dark Web. Either as cured Peyote Crowns ready for consumption or in a Seed Pack ready to be planted to grow your own. Just like buying from the dealer it being available on the Dark Web is not guaranteed, so if you can't find it, keep trying.
How to Grow it
Purchase a Seed Pack of Peyote from the Dark Web as explained above. Open the seed pack and place it on a patch of soil or in a planter pot like you would any other plant in game.
After the plant is fully grown and bearing fruit you can harvest it and either dry your peyote crowns to make it ready for consumption or you can re-plant them to make more plants.
How to Dry it
To dry peyote you first need to purchase a Newspaper you can dry the peyote on. You can get a hold of that in the convenience store. Simply click on your Sims phone > Drugs > Convenience Store. Your Sim will travel to the convenience store and you will get the option to purchase it.
Place the newly bought Newspaper on a surface, like a table or counter top and (assuming you have 15 harvested peyote crowns in your Sims inventory) click on the Newspaper and select "Dry Peyote".
After some time the Peyote crowns will turn from green to brownish yellow and your crowns are ready for consumption. The only thing you need to do now is to fetch the crowns from the newspaper.
Click the Newspaper and select "Fetch Peyote". The dry crowns will show up in your Sims inventory, now ready for consumption.
How to Consume it
Click the dry crowns, either in your Sims inventory or placed on a surface, and select "Consume Peyote".
There is 15 crowns in one pile of dry peyote. Every time you click "Consume Peyote" your Sim will consume 5 of the 15 crowns. So each pile has 3 doses in total.
What this means is that if you consume 1 dose, your Sim will have a very mild trip. If you consume it again the trip will increase in intensity, and if you consume it a third time the trip will be even more intense.
How to Share it
With the dry Peyote being put on a surface, click the pile of dry peyote and select "Share With", assuming there is an eligible Sim nearby to share with.
You will get a picker dialog selecting the Sim you want to share the Peyote with, they will walk over to the pile and consume one dose.
NEWSPAPER
The newspaper added in this release is not only there to dry peyote to make it ready for consumption, it also works as a regular newspaper.
You can get a hold of it in the Convenience Store by clicking on your Sims phone > Drugs > Convenience Store. Your Sim will travel to the convenience store and you will get the option to purchase it.
Click on the newspaper, either in your Sims inventory or from a surface and select "Read Newspaper".
It will first show you the latest relevant news that came with this release. That is the same version of the newspaper notification that showed up when loading up your save. After that initial article it will show you a random article from a wide assortment of articles.
LIFE & DEATH COMPATIBILITY
Since the Life & Death pack reworked the whole deaths and dying concept I have had feedback that Grim hasn't properly reaped Sims dying from overdoses.
This is now fixed along with a whole bunch of other things related to deaths and dying.
You can now select the custom deaths that comes with this mod as Cause of Death's in CAS. All the custom death traits have gotten proper and new icons.
Cancer is a proper viable custom death now and does not show up as death by fire, and Xanax and Adderall fatal OD chances are tweaked to be a tad bit higher than what they used to be.

Venue List
To make sure this mod works you need to download the updated Basemental Drugs venue list provided in this post. I recommend installing this venue list in a separate folder directly in your Mods folder called: Basemental Venue List. I also recommend updating it whenever there is a new mod version out as I constantly add in new custom venue compatibility from other mod authors.
Choose one of these 2 installation methods. Not both.
Basemental Drugs Installer (WINDOWS ONLY)
Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.*
Download this Basemental Drugs.exe file.
Run the Basemental Drugs.exe file.
Choose which Optional Packages you want included.
Delete your localthumbcache.package
* If you installed from the installer previously, you can delete the old files by launching the file called unins000.exe in your Basemental Drugs folder.
Basemental Drugs Zip (WINDOWS OR MAC)
Delete all the old Basemental Drugs files from your Mods folder.
Download the Basemental Drugs zip file.
Unzip the Basemental Drugs zip file.
Place the files in a folder titled Basemental Drugs in your Mods folder.

Oh wow. Thanks for pointing out that bug. Apparently the dry crowns won't be delivered to the mailbox. Will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime set up an NPC drug dealer and purchase it through the LSD tab as described in the post, that is a way quicker method. As for the stuck LSD buff, please head over to the support channel on Discord. It is easier to help you out over there

hi i have issue regarding casino, i set up illegal casino for may gang, and i already appoint the casino boss, also change the venue type to gang casino, but whenever i try to use my casino boss sims to run the illegal casino it didnt work they just use the phone and then nothing happen. that also same with my leader sims whenever i try to oversee casino they just use the phone but the nothing happen. am i doing something or can you help me to fix it?

Hi, I just want to report two bugs. My sim took LSD over two days ago and is still tripping even though the LSD icon isn't even in his mood buff list anymore, and also I've tried ordering peyote twice online but it never comes in the mail. My sim is charged for it but it never shows up in their inventory when they collect the mail. Is there a cheat to fix the LSD issue so my sim doesn't just continue tripping indefinitely and is there any way for my sim to acquire the peyote? I just feel a bit disappointed since I subscribed just to get the peyote on early release.

To use the Dark Web your Sim needs to research all available researchable drugs on a computer first, or increase any of their dealing skills. It has always been like that. To create a gang they need to be lvl 10 in one of the aforementioned dealing skills. Always been like that as well. I tried to help you out with this issue through DM's before, and then you sorted it out, but since you still seem to have that same problem please go through the DM's I sent you and try that 50/50 method. Looking at the conversation we had I am 100% sure you have a mod in your mods folder that is causing issues with other mods in there. You need to figure out which mod that is as this isn't a normal issue occurring anywhere else.

This is such a fun mod to play around with, but I was curious about the effects of MDMA. I thought it would be fun for the nightclub regulars (assuming the buff was playful or flirty), but the double dazed buff is so strong that it cancels out everything even when I try to stack up as many good buffs as possible. Is there something I can do to balance it out?

After I put the new version in my mods folder the game is throwing me BE for a different mod every time I go in game. I ended up having to remove this version and my game is fine. The old version still works. Where do I report this?

Hi, I love this new addition, but I'm having a pretty odd glitch. Whenever i sent my teen sim to the convenience store, I have her purchase regular things, vape, eyedrops, cigs etc, and the newspaper which is new. However, when I finish having her shop and click the check, my game crashes. This has never happened before, so I just wanted to mention in case this is related to the new update. :)

You can get the small jar from build/buy or the Basemental Shop (from the app on the phone) if you're not running a full operation and it's personal Sim plants that take fewer buds to cure.
