you are correct about the "birds!" The Oasis is situated near a sheer cliff that drops off into the ocean and when people die, their family or loved ones craft a glider for them to be placed in and sent off into the sunrise.

Okay, first of all, this is so sweet, I love character bonding happens when a character answers the other’s character deep philosophical question with a sweet, heartfelt answer. The kind that go “Yes, you are right, but that’s not all.” Second of all, I love the callback to Liv! Been a while since we saw them! Finally, those “birds” in the third panel look more like man-made (or should I say furry-made) creation. Are those used in some kind of parting ritual to ease the grief from the loss of a loved one?
