🕑 Added 2025-02-01 11:02:19 +0000 UTCWon't be uploading to patreon for now. I'll be uploading on Fanbox this month and onwards. Patreon is really just not a creator friendly platform. There are lots of limitations, and Patreon agents wont hesitate to purge you if they find out.
An example is fellatrix, he used to earn 11,000+ USD on patreon, and they werent afraid of purging him. Even though he was contributing such a huge sum to the site.

Yeah and the patreon alternatives really are tempting for nsfw artists. Patreon just doesnt have the freedom that other sites do. And the fact that they dont care about losing creators since theyre a multi million dollar company annoys me a lot

Yeah it just really sucks, I guess im one of those artists right now. It just isnt the site for non-vanilla things. People like Ourobot def thrives here considering their art, but for someone like me, and a whole lot of others, we are very oppressed when it comes to drawing

Unfortunately it's way less about patreon and way more about Visa, Mastercard and PayPal. $11,000 a month is nothing when patreon makes nearly $200 million a year just from their own cut, not including other things I get. They are more afraid of losing the major payment service companies. This is always the case more often than not because those companies are terrified that they will lose their ad partnerships if someone catches wind of services being used for stuff that is not publicly acceptable. It's all absolute bullshit. I noticed the shift a couple years ago, patreon never had a problem with what their Creator content was when it came to art. But as they got bigger, the major credit companies were more skeptical about what was actually on the platform. I supported quite a few artists who have had to leave the platform for the same reason you were thinking of.
