The page design here may be almost more interesting than the action...(edit) It just occurred to me that, with this comic page having been drawn 10 years ago and set at least five years before that, some of you young whippersnappers may not understand what you're looking at here. Back in the old days, cell phones were called "telephones" and they were too big to carry around - plus they had to be plugged into a phone jack (sort of like an ethernet cable but with only 4 pins) so you couldn't take them out of the house. And get this: NO APPS. NO CAMERA. NO TEXT. All you could do with it was MAKE CALLS.
Also, this was back when people played games on stand-alone dedicated gaming devices called "consoles" which were usually connected to a TV (a bulky cathode ray device which irradiated our eyeballs at a stunning 640x480 pixel resolution) and were generally considered to be non-portable. The fastest internet at the time was DSL, which you had to be super-rich to get. Online multiplayer was a science-fiction dream which most of us had heard about but never seen, and consoles weren't internet capable anyway, so if you wanted to play games with your friends you had to actually go to their house and sit in the same room with them, and everyone would be playing simultaneously on one single screen AT 30FPS, IN 640x480 VGA RESOLUTION! And the sound was just 2-channel stereo! I know it sounds crazy, but that's what we did, and we thought it was awesome.
What crazy, primitive fools we were.

A: I must admit guilty of being that guy to "question your judgement" of inviting me to anything. Often enough, people ask anyway even if they don't want to. I don't want to make them feel bad... Granted, there's no real takebacksies at that point without looking like a dick... Rambling. B: Totally remember those times. DSL was a newfangled fancy shmancy waste of money. Now let me LISTEN TO THE SWEET SOUNDS OF DIALLING INTO MY INTERNET! We did have a 5.1 surround sound system though. Connections... What an upside down world... Rambling again.
