On page 6 it's apparent there is no keyhole.

I think the problem here is either what's below the knob (since it's "skillfully hidden"™) or the fact that it's hard to turn a knob as big as yourself. There has been a picture on page 4 that shows a bit about the absence of a keyhole, but it might have been just your standard cartoonish simplification also the problem is probably below the keyhole zone.
