Future Projects
🕑 Added 2023-05-11 12:17:02 +0000 UTCOkay, seeing as A Pure Knight’s Natural Enemy refuses to be written, and so as to not turn the night into a complete waste (and to avoid thinking what a radically different meaning this line would have had when I was younger—and if I was an entirely different person), I’ve decided to share my thoughts on my next project.
As you all know, I’m getting (psychologically) ready for both Wake-up Call and All Right! Fine! I Will Take You! to end, and the idea is to replace them with a single story with more frequent updates based on my own original concepts. That doesn’t mean I’ll stop writing fanfic all of a sudden, as I still intend to give a proper ending to my ongoing stories (and to give somethingto the commissioners who’ve been patient enough to wait until my schedule was a bit freer).
That being said, I’ve got decades’ worth of ideas that could do the trick, and I would like to discuss the merits (or lack thereof) of them so that I can start doing what George R.R. Martin generously calls “gardening” (that is: allowing my subconscious to work on the story while I do something else).
Oh, and to start getting the proper documentation I need for any of the stories, of course (particularly if the one story with cosplay ends up winning, as it’s been a while since I did anything remotely close to a DIY project).
So, with this prologue out of the way, let me start listing off candidates:
- Evolved Easter Special: This one is cheating because it will get done as soon as I clear time off for it. It won a poll, after all. (It will be a superhero original with a bunny girl love interest who is, in no way at all, even vaguely resembling Mirko. Really. Pinky promise.)
- Cockblock All the Zombies!: This one is a lighthearted action smut comedy meant to parody all those Resident Evil parodies with hentai zombies. The main character avoids succumbing to the infection in the top-secret lab he works as a janitor in because he was in the middle of jerking off when the sex-zombie virus was released (and pondering whether to cum inside the water cooler as petty revenge for how his biology degree has worked out for him when the alarm sounds). All his powers would work off hentai zombie logic (sans the grossest parts), and maybe this could be described as Evil Dead meets Urotsukidoji with a Hachiman expy protagonist gathering his own dysfunctional poly group. Not really, but you get the idea.
- An Android’s Quest for Manhood: This is an old idea I had for an adventure game. James would wake up in a secret military base where super scientists were sequestered in years ago so they could work non-stop on their crazy projects. It’s been quite a while since they all went some flavor of bonkers, and James, the MC, is basically what a sex-obsessed, nerdy, no-longer-teenager came up with so that she could finally lose her virginity with an android tailored to be the perfect lover. Except for the penis that she hasn’t installed. Because those are gross. And icky. And kinda scary. James… disagrees.
- Extra Curricular: I think this one could be a good choice, as I see it as a short, self-contained novel. It could easily fit into the Tales From a Lewd Fantasy World verse, though. The idea is that childhood friends on the wrong side of the poverty line managed to get a scholarship to the local magical college. They are exceptional in their own ways and have garnered the attention of their teachers, though, as the MC discovers, maybe it’s the wrongkind of attention because one day he notices his friend coming out of her tutor’s office with a distant look on her face and being… quite suggestible. They soon discover that the start of mind control conditioning has been worked in her, but she argues that her being at risk is no worse than what they would face if they wasted their chance at a magical education, so they set out to have the protagonist subvert the mind control for their own purposes. Which may, or not, be precisely the wrong choice to make, given the risks and temptations of their chosen path.
- Tales From a Lewd Fantasy World: Speak of the Devil… All right, the thing with this is that offering a Patreon exclusive perk that only gets updated when it wins the polls wasn’t my brightest idea. I do have an arc in mind for Adrian’s journey, but at the rate we’re going, it will take too long to get there. Maybe I should prioritize also giving this a proper ending? I’d need to get some discussion going for it, though, as I may be running out of hentai tropes to recontextualize without veering into outright ickiness.
- I Am Not the Player: Another old idea for a game, though one quite a bit more ambitious. The main character is tired of his roommate relentlessly mocking him for being a dateless college-aged man who keeps playing porny visual novels, and he decides to show her that not all visual novels are sex romps, only to discover that, when she plays, he gets sucked in as the main character. After some testing, they find out that whatever happens in the game keeps affecting him outside of it, and he bribes her to play a stat sim cyberpunk ninja trainer so that he can steadily gain superhuman prowess (and thus ace his engineering tests). The thing is that, as they keep playing, the game love interest (his trainer and a kunoichi) starts acting outside the script. Think of this as the hentai visual novel version of The Purple Rose of Cairo.
- You Have Failed Me for the Last Time, Truck-kun: A man is about to be run over by a runaway machine of isekaiffication, only to get saved at the very last moment… by a swordswoman elf who doesn’t quite know how she got to modern-day Earth. This would mostly be a comedy about a fantasy heroine trying to get by in the modern world and the poor guy trying to explain to her that, no, killing buses isn’t gonna drop gold. Also, most shops don’t take gold as currency. And could she please stop dressing like a stripper when guests are coming over?
- Moonlust: This actually was an old game I wrote. The first chapter was written ages ago and mixes present-time narration with flashbacks of what happened in the game before indicating what happened after it. It’s a romance vampire story (I know, I know), and the plan was for it to alternate POVs between the male vampire lead and the girl as the world was explored—a world in which vampires just became a known thing not that long ago, with laws being adjusted in a hurry so that some people can benefit from immortality. Of course, it’s me, so expect things to not be that simple.
- Heroic Loop: Another old game idea. The MC would be forced by his father to enlist in an adventurer’s academy, go through the classes, meet the other students… and have it all destroyed by a conquering army. Only to start again with just a vague feeling of what went on before. Each loop would be about learning about a subject and being romantically entangled with the heroine specialized in such (black magic, holy magic, bardic knowledge, martial arts, weaponry, roguish skills, etc) as he came closer and closer to becoming a hero. Yeah, it’s likely this one works better as a game than a novel—not to mention the utter scope bloat of this. I like stat-rising games far too much for my own good (I blame Princess Maker 2 and True Love).
- Dungeon Master: A band of adventurers down on their luck find a newborn dungeon. They are a bit torn because, as much as a chance for riches and resources as it represents, taking care of it would be administrativework rather than adventuring, but they finally end up taking the plunge and founding the town, adventurer’s guild, and infrastructure needed to really exploit a new dungeon. I don’t have much more than the seed of an idea for this one, but I think it could lead to interesting places—and also to long hours of learning about business administration and Medieval taxation to have the story make sense.
- The Demon Lord’s Secretary Is Terrifying: A man given the standard chance for reincarnation in a fantasy world is asked a special favor by the goddess overseeing the case: please, would he kindly take the place of the Demon Lord and discreetly reign in the horrifyingly effective secretary who keeps ruthlessly advancing the goals of what should be the losing side of the conflict? And, while he’s at it, could he maybe stop the reckless heroine from dying by having some non-lethal, yet still embarrassing, countermeasures in place in his dungeon? Please and thank you.
- Lewd Arts Online: So, virtual reality has gotten to the point of full immersion. That’s good. Great, even. And Raphael, Carlota, and Irene are all a mix of fencers, martial artists, and brawlers looking to have some virtual fun by massacring monsters coded to fight regular human beings. Nice. Oh, and they all got an early invite to the beta. That’s just wonderful. Also, they have just been offered to stay in the game world for a year, their every action being recorded, their bodies being enhanced through state-of-the-art biofeedback, and being paid a good salary that would conveniently get rid of their current issues with college fees. That… sounds too good to be true. But it’s a real offer! A good one! It’s just that, maybe, the girl running the whole system may be kind of interested in things that a blushing maiden would not care to mention in polite company…
- A Goddess’ Blessing on This Terrible Weeb (title subject to change): One Day, Martin faints in the midst of his (impossible, desperate) attempt to keep up with the latest anime season, only to wake up to an otherworldly beautiful woman caring for him and claiming to be the Goddess of Otakudom, who, moved by his devotion, has decided to grant him the boon of being able to live his life as a genre of anime. He could become a superpowered martial artist, live in a world of magical girls, or even isekai into Generic Fantasy World Number 34! Martin thinks about it for all of zero point five seconds before demanding to turn his life into a hentai, reasoning that it’s the optimal choice, as hentai includes all the genres, and so he’s going to get the benefits of super martial arts, magical girls, and—what? Is there any other reason for this choice? Not at all. Martin is a pure-hearted young man who’s only trying to munchkin the Hell out of the situation. Really. No tentacles were involved in his decision-making.
- The Summoned’s Boon: Another recycled game idea—this one comes with a lot of world-building. The idea is that the afterlife automatically selects you based on the dominant sin or virtue in your spirit at the time of your death, slowly purifying you over a century-long process from which you emerge as a being purely aligned with that quality to the detriment of your mortal identity. Except the main character, who died after tripping and hitting his head during a desperate bid to grab a Kleenex before ejaculating to anime porn, was summoned by a curious history student just as the process started and then sent back to Hell after bluffing about being an all-powerful incubus. It turns out he’s been the first demon to be successfully summoned in ages, and every demon in the Lust Circle is eager for the things only he can provide, so he’s going to get a rushed education so that he can keep bluffing to his summoner, and, maybe, he’s also going to bribe his direct superior with all those Sherlock Holmes things she missed out on by dying before even Reichenbach Falls came out.
- Future Me Is a Jerk: A man isekais himself into… his past self. Except in a world undergoing a mythical apocalypse that has nothing at all to do with his everyday life and is, in fact, somewhat similar to a visual novel he had been playing. This would mostly be a retread of my High School of the Dead fic, an attempt at recycling the original elements because that was what I worked the hardest at in the project and, well, I’m terrible at the whole “kill your darlings” thing.
- Dungeon Roomies: A young man who suddenly needs to earn enough money to pay the taxes needed to keep his inheritance is forced to move in with the friends he was about to rent a flat to. He will struggle to keep his father’s fencing studio going (despite his childhood friend and roomie being a better—or at least more devoted—fencer than he is), to maybe keep the other roomie’s cosplay supplies (that she needs to pay the rent) from invading the whole apartment, and, preferably, not get kicked out of college. When a dungeon that grants money-saving upgrades to their living arrangements shows up, the three of them are very interested. I kinda like this one and have been thinking about it for a while, but it would definitely take some work not to mischaracterize any of the aspects I intend to portray—particularly, I really should dust off my fencing knowledge.
All in all, I think that any of these projects could work, but some of them are years old, and I’d need to respin them to fit my current skillset and strengths. Maybe starting off with something tightly focused, like the Extra Curricular or Moonlust stories, would be best, but it could also be a good idea to just dive into the deep end with Dungeon Roomies or A Summoned’s Boon. Whatever the case may be, I’m eager to hear what you have to say about this, and I’ll also be posting this on QQ and making a channel on the Discord so you can pitch in with your comments, suggestions, and absolute despair at how utterly unfocused my brain can be.

Huh, I'd never heard of Prophecy Approved Companion before, but that definitely seems like something I could be interested in checking out, particularly before delving into a story with an NPC gaining sentience. About the secretary I was picturing her as deadly serious and with a deadpan indistinguishable from a lack of humor at first blush (so, kinda like Snarkmaster), but yeah, the likely foursome has shades of the Cakeverse, though with a more lighthearted protagonist that soon gets dragged down by the absurdity of the world he's been thrown in. I should start thinking about some kind of twist to make the setting more interesting than Generic Fantasy Anime Number 34, though, if this keeps taking the lead so decisively.

Honestly, what most attracted my attention was the Demon Lord's Secretary, and I Am Not The Player. The latter because I still recall 'Prophecy Approved Companion' with great relish and this seems to have shades of that plus its own interesting concept with a roomie literally dictating your life at your allowance that seems like it would be an absolutely hilarious mix of chaos and misunderstandings. Particularly if the roomie turns out to be a tsundere, but one who just can't help but want to find out what will become of the heroine and keeps pushing for the Sentience/Self-Awareness angle, which also impedes her own overall goal of a relationship. XD The former just had me immediately picture an amazing combination of the Cakeverse's Uber Child. Having the best aspects of Hachiman, Shizuka, Iroha, and Haruna, in one absolutely terrifying package that the poor MC has to defuse/divert from her goals of complete domination. Bonus points that his plans to keep the heroine alive will certainly convince the Secretary that he wants the Heroine as a Sex Slave for himself and will quickly capture her for him, then it will have the MC trying to convince the Heroine that he is on her side, and they have to stop his secretary on the orders of the Goddess. I can't wait until they just conquer the Heavens and the Secretary takes the Goddess for herself. XD

Hey, thanks! It would take some work to make the story worth-reading for those who have already read the original fic, but yeah, this would mean resuming my Eastern mysticism studies once again (which is always fun).
