So because I love paladins, they are probably my favourite class, and we have so many good aligned pallyies, I decided to make an evil one for a change.
Wield fire and destruction, bring chaos to the battlefield and become the embodiment of the power you seek.

Well, torturing, raping, pillaging and murdering in cold blood is always evil. So it's not that difficult to make the distinction in an RPG. In real life of course this is exactly what both the Crusaders and their Muslim foes did with the ordinary non-combatant folk caught in the middle and bearing the brunt of the horrors of war.

Growing up around D&D I always found it strange that Holy = Good. Paladins serve their God, if their god was one of Chaos, Neutrality, Law or Evil their powers would still stem from and be based on their Deity. Besides, who's to say who is good and evil. As the age old phrase goes... the winners write the history.
