He probably could find her again but better to keep it simple and easy, it's not like the mark hurts her and is easily relinquished later. Besides, Jake's already been pretty blatant in the past that he's somewhat directionally retarded and this is a huge complex city he's still quite unfamiliar with. He's improved his directional sense, but again no reason not to keep it simple. Jake likes simple

It's not there to sell items. The shop is being used to find candidates for the Chosen. Like Google or Amazon scooping up data. They can easily sort out who's who with the requirements on items. Also, as the B-grade said, most people can't even use the items they sell, so there's no point in trying to resell them. The limit is likely to keep costs down (since they're losing money on every item) and to make sure they have enough items to properly execute the test.

Ben Heggem

i think the explanation just flew right over ur head lol he gave sufficient reasoning

Justin Buro

You can have the eyesight of God's and still you wouldn't be able to see an ant on the moon. An elf on a galaxy sized planet in a presumably metropolis-sized shopping mall to a mere c-grade, even one specced wholy into perception, would still be a challenge. Plus, mark is simply easier

Gardor

Our perception focused mc didn't think he had a chance of finding Meira if he didn't put his mark on her?

Julian

It's likely to stop an enterprising guy from buying a lot and reselling.

It kind of matches Villy's philosophy. This way it's a semi-random boon for upgrading the skills, rather then letting people buy their way to success.

I enjoyed this, though I don't completely understand the point of buy 1 item. Is that per visit or what. The rules of the store were not explained pretty much at all. Some context of how the store truly operates would be nice.

Tuqueque

The items are subsidized

C.W.

Why would a shop only allow you to look at one an item and then either buy it or leave? If you buy it can you then buy other stuff or was that one item for the whole store or just the gloves? Going to be honest only being able look at one item seems rather dumb. Even with the shops goal of helping the blessed. At least without some sore of explanation as to why?

He has plenty of money since his credits from the 93rd are worth 100X. I am not advocating for all legendary equipment but go Ancient at least. It's a shame he is still using lower tier armor at all.

Mark Corwin

5th paragraph - “Considering it is your first visit, let us start out light,” he incubus said - Should be 'the incubus said'

Zogarth

Fixed, but pretty sure "their" is the commonly accepted pronoun these days.

Kyler

Still waiting on the reaction from ok boy thats making villy’s statue on earth

Michael Fannon

Not going to lie, was kinda hoping for bikini armor.

Clint

It would probably be a solid boost to his power, but leaning too heavily on powerful equipment can cause problems. The growth of his personal power is more important. Also, he probably can't afford too many pieces of equipment like this, without the massive discount the religious fanatics gave him. Of course if he revealed his true blessing, they'd be kitting him out with their very best equipment and commissioning crafters to make him even better stuff.

Jonathan

as clueless as him as he “Baisc, yet irresistible Basic some shopping of this own his own not even their race. the race, its race, or his race (When referring to an individual of unknown gender, the convention in English is the male pronoun.)

Gallagher.563

I know there is a stat cap from armor but wouldn't Jake still be wise to upgrade everything just for the special skills added by equipment.
