You guys should look into the book “The Value of Others”, I just finished reading it and I feel like it caters to everyone’s questions in the patreon about relationships. It’s filled with gems and also an easy read as it uses analogies to depict ideas and concepts.

On the self-hypnosis part (around 35 min) in the book I disagree with what you guys said. It’s directly contradicting the book status anxiety. Although your mind may alter perception of reality by self-hypnotising yourself, the outside world still plays a significant role in appraising your self worth. You can only hypnotise yourself to become great if you already view yourself as good. If you’re a train wreck of a person you have to be severely deluded to be able to view yourself as something other than a train wreck.
