Lol I was waiting for Kenny to notice Mikasa and I knew when I saw that smile! 😅
Rakurai
I don't know if you've ever heard of this, but I think Kenny would find it an interesting dive. It's the concept of 'hard' and 'soft' magic systems in different media. It's a really interesting read if you're into the way magic is used in a story!
Peter Film
Never heard of it giving taste to music, ever?

these episodes have post-credit scenes- 6, 8, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 36, 40, 42, 43, 44, 46, 48, 49. besides those, these episodes have different than usual ending- 45, 54, 63 and 64. don't skip anything on 64th episode. watch the whole thing.

I haven’t watched this one yet. I’m about to but i just want to say how glad i am you guys are watching this. You’re starting to scratch the surface of this world and I can’t wait to see what it makes you both discuss!!

My ass fully thought “oh wait maybe that isn’t just a trope thing. He might actually be right?” lmao
Andrew G
Either way Xiao-Mei would have bodied Scar with those teeth 🤣
Andrew G
Bro whoa holy shit lol
Andrew G
Okay, this is probably going to a weird statement (I have synesthesia- if you know you know) but like… the opening and ending for this part is like… those joints are like, the finest aperatif for this shit? Lol they sound like the finest and most appropriate wine to accompany the main course that is this arc

^ if I remember correctly the manga actually indicated that he thought it was cute.

It's never explicitly explained, but there's a theory that Scar was actually revving up to destroy Xiao-Mei (the panda). His general shock at her appearance and reaching out with his tattooed arm is the biggest "evidence", but it's also coupled with the notion that he views chimeras as unnatural, evil creatures, and a panda which is mixed colors could be interpreted as two different organisms put together. To this day, nobody knows if he was trying to pet the adorable thing, or put it out of it's misery.

Now that you have a good idea of the characters and story, it may be fun to mention these fun facts: this is one of the few shonen series created and written by a female mangaka, Hiromu Arakawa, who hid her full name because at the time, shonen series written by women would see some bias from readers. If you look for her photo on google, you'll probably only find a cartoon cow with glasses that she uses to represent her author image or a picture of popular Voice Artist Romi Parks posing as her for publicity-based occasions. Nothing to do with the plot or spoilers, just some fun trivia that I found interesting about the creator when I originally watched it.

You recognised Mikasa's voice but you probably didn't recognise Ling's voice is the same actor as Bataar Jr, Kuvira's fiance in Korra.

That thing behind Winry was a common anime trope. It's her inner demon getting PISSED that Ed broke her arm again.
Peter Film
Just another anime trope to learn!

Just tried on PC, works, thanks :)

Works fine for me. If you're on mobile, maybe try some other device or a desktop?

When I click the link it says video unavailable, anyone else?
Marcelo
bold move to mock the video editor lmao. hope the youtube video has some good edits.

Just a heads up from this season onward there are quite a few post-credits scene and end-of-episode scenes where the episode merged into the outro, so make sure someone like Chris is giving you notice so you don’t stop right when the outro plays on those episodes! Unrelated but this outro is my favorite outro of the series 😍
Cloaky
Pretty sure Black Hayate (Hawkeye's dog) is a Shiba Inu. 🐾
Chelly
Ayyy nice job recognizing Mikasa’s VA this episode. Even aside from the voice, Lan Fan is definitely very Mikasa-esque lol

Yeah, it's just a representation of her rage.
Eric Smith
Pretty sure it's a Japan thing. Like the Japanese Buddhist incarnation of rage (you'd think "Buddhist war god" was an oxymoron, but feudal Japan gonna feudal Japan). EDIT a quick Google says it's Fudo Myo-o, so yeah, an angry Japanese Buddha
Letts React
Who is the person towering over her then?
Mark O'Leary
15:20 Winry just doesn't like it when you break her handiwork...
