How about Psycho Pass? It has a really great and deep story, with great intellectual depth, including philosophy, psychology, and state craf. Plus, it has a good english dub, and despite its high production value, not that many has made reactions of it. I think it's right up your alley :)

I suggest you read the promised neverland in your own time instead of watching it, simply for the fact that the second half of the anime is not faithful to the manga (or good)

Fruits Basket is a must for you guys at some point. Your deep analysis of the characters and story makes this hands down one of the perfect reaction channels to watch this incredible series. I doubt it would ever win a poll against Chainsaw Man, JJK, etc. But I have no doubt you would be hooked after the first 1-2 episodes…

SO happy to see jujutsu kaisen made it into the running! It's a great show and season 2 starts up soon as well. so by the time yall got through season 1, y'all could probably go straight into 2 at that point or potentially do a reaction to the movie (which was awesome!) Others mentioned it, but hunter x hunter could be a great option. And have yall ever considered doing a longer show (like Naruto or bleach?)

There are 2 filler episodes in the entirety of HxH, which are recap episodes. The "boring" episodes you are talking about are crucial to the plot or development, especially later on during the invasion where everything happens super fast, so the anime has to slow things down and show you what everyone is doing. HxH isn't just a combat show, it has a lot of deep themes, especially about humanity.

Spy x Family isn't a bad show by any means, but it is very episodic, so I don't think it would lend itself well to your style of reaction content, where you break down the character arcs and their mental state as it progresses over the run of the show, mostly because there isn't a lot of progression.

Please be aware that many people doesn't even know older anime. I bet most chainsaw and jujutsu kaisen votes have never seen code geass. The fact that most options are less than 5 years old says a lot. Sure it is what gets hyped nowadays, but Code Geass is just a classic, in the same level as Death Note. I am sure you will notice the difference between something like attack on titan, death note, code geass, and anime like demon slayer. Recent anime are too childish really. One anime I feel like both of you will just love is Monster. Monster is one of the best stories out there, it has detective/mistery elements on it, and it is a very mature show. But, if you are doing just for the views and the growth of the channel, then good luck with chainsaw man, jujutsu kaisen and demon slayer.

Chainsaw Man is my top choice followed by Edgerunners and Spy X Family. I think the insanity and awesomeness of CSM would be fun to watch (plus season 1 is 12 episodes, so no a super long run)

I love chainsaw man, but I’ll be honest. I don’t believe montana could handle all the gore that comes with chainsaw man. I’m just going by her reactions to mild at best gore from other anime’s. Also My Dress Up Darling should be on the list over Fruits Basket.

It's like taking duolingo and only taking advanced lessons and then trying to speak in the country who's language you learned. You're not gonna understand the nuances and miss a lot of the themes that are present in these newer shows because these directors are assuming that you have seen Naruto or seen bleach and you can just GET the weird magic systems. If FMA thought us anything it is that people get really hify about their anime.

In reality it's always good to get a grip for the basics before you dive into the pits. There is no denying that Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece have revolutionized how eastern animation is perceived in the west in addition to DBZ. Of those 4 shows that are the pillars that most other anime that became popular in the west built off of we have watched 0. HxH and Fairy Tail were the next closest to that influence level in the west and so I would start people there. Cuz nothing will amass hate comments quite like saying an aspect of a show is like Jujitsu Kaisen when it was paying homage to a foundational show.

But isn't it unfair to Kenny and Montana to make them have to commission new art, learn a whole new cast of characters and the world they they are in every month? Like, they got FLAMED every time they got the smallest thing wrong with FMA or Death Note. Avatar was the first show they did and followed it by Korra. HxH is like 138 episodes. It would be nice and consistent and take them ~1 year to finish. Plus the people who they attract to join the patron because of the longer show will stay subbed longer as opposed to those who signed up for demon slayer and are already gone 🤷🏽‍♂️ and they are taking on MHA which is A. Longer, and B Not done yet. At least Fairy Tail is done and HxH is coming back, but has been "done" for over a decade.

I feel like y'all are going to have to basically decide on the direction for the channel with anime. You can go the shonen route, with more action based shonen anime, or the more wholesome route with slice of life or comedy/romance anime.

Log Horizon is a lesser known show, but near and dear to my heart. It has excellent worldbuilding and a wide cast of amazing characters, but it’s a bit of a slow burn. Even if you don’t end up reacting to it, I highly recommend you should to watch it.

They shouldn't watch something that's still coming out. We should prioritize shows that are completed. I would hate for them to have 10 shows waiting for new seasons or on hiatus. 1) no satisfying finale and 2) if they all return in the same season trying to figure out what to start releasing first.

If you watch The Promised Neverland at any point just stick to Season 1. I don’t know what they were thinking for Season 2, but it was so bad it’ll never be finished and that’s a real shame. My vote is towards Fruits Basket and Spy x Family for shows that are bit more light hearted :)

Edgerunners blew me away, I didn’t know anything about cyberpunk going in and after watching that show I instantly bought cyberpunk 2077 and since I have gotten every achievement for it and have beaten the game multiple times. The animation in the show is top notch and everything about the cyberpunk universe is just so cool imo. Music is S tier as well
