I don't know anyone else besides normies that say fanservice in anime is annoying. Fanservice is greatly appreciated by the fans of shonen and most anime and manga fans. Most anime fans aren't normies. Its weird seeing normie people that don't watch anime much always complaining about stuff like that when you aren't the main demographic in the first place... Shonen in particular is meant for young teenage/adult males. They do fanservice cause its appreciated by that audience more than not. You may have yourself surrounded by a group of certain people that think fanservice is annoying but that is not majority of the fanbase of anime and manga. Anime and manga have gotten mainstream now so its being hit from all spectrums of people and its sometimes annoying to see because they just can't leave it alone and either accept it or support it. Everyone does not agree that fanservice is annoying. If you watch other anime that aren't simply mainstream anime you will find that out pretty quick.... I had never seen this full length reaction so its weird coming back and seeing this stuff.

While 'after S3' is technically correct, it's specifically S5 that fails to deliver. S4 is the best of the series to date and S6 really redeems the failures of its immediate predecessor.

I've noticed quite a few ppl saying how they'd wish you wouldn't ask questions so much. But honestly it's one of my fav things about this channel, esp when Kenny has already seen the show. Idk, it's just such a fun dynamic having someone who's seen it and one who hasn't. Very excited for this one, unfortunate that Kenny has seen it AND is caught up (I’m hoping by the time they recorded this he at least hasn’t seen all of season 6 because it was a great one) but I know Montana would have the most fun with this one in general and a bonus she will learn more about classic shonens and get use to the stupid humor and fan service most anime have so that way y’all can explore more shows without her being too confused or put off by them! I know it’s long but I’m so looking forward to all the analyzing and questions she’ll have plus the emotional moments and character developments are good, plus the fact there’s so many to learn about and we get content on nearly all of them so she’ll surely find a few favorites! You gotta remember that Bakugo's VA is Connie Springer in AOT. Just think of nice little Connie saying the things that Bakugo does and it's hilarious. Also LMAO at Kenny's face when the doctor appeared. He has clearly never rewatched this episode before. He was shook.

Honestly its so much more fun to watch when I've seen it because I know when to have us discuss and what to talk about generally haha, and there's no chance of a wrong answer from Montana accidentally making us misinterpret a scene and mess up info going forward. There's give and take from both styles, but from an editing and filming sense this is a WAY easier style!

Jumping on this point since a few people have mentioned it, but I do agree with Kenny having seen the show he seems to be hankering to ask Montana (somewhat leading) questions or ends up pausing more than might be considered necessary to a first-time viewer. Completely understandable!! I'd be ridiculously excited to introduce my partner to a series I know and love and know for a fact I would do the same. 😂 I honestly think it's adorable but do understand how it could become frustrating in the future. Maybe consider giving Montana primary reign over the pause button if y'all stick with MHA? Idk if there's a way to give her a remote or something based on your setup but I think the swap would help to avoid stopping in places that may seem less natural (since she'd be the one controlling it!) Super excited to see more MHA reactions regardless!

Love MHA to death, would love to see it. But as has happened before, if Kenny has already seen the show, he's constantly asking leading questions or interjecting at the smallest detail. It detracts too much from the flow y'all have when it's an entirely new show.

It would take 72 weeks minimum to watch every episode aired. Add in Death Note final 6 weeks and AOT and the pilots of 4 shows they'd be maybe up to Season 7 a year after it ends. Hopefully if they do Kenny doesn't watch on his own also.

Even though I watched the new AoT Episode in Sub, I very much prefere watching dub for the same reasons as you two have. I can't read and focus on the action on the screen at the same time. My eyes are glued to the bottom of the screen the whole time, when watching sub basically. The fact, that you watch in dub is the main reason I subscribed to the Patreon.

@Kenny I would recommend downloading Dub with CC should be easy, and if you pay for the site like Crunchy or Netflix it's not really bad. VLC and Windows Media Player can track CC subtitles onto text and live translate and I dunno if streamers can?

You underestimate how many chapters fit into one episode. After this arc in the manga ends (where they are almost caught up) there’s only one more arc left. So yeah maybe more than 25 episodes, but it’s only going to be one more season which could be 20-35 episodes

Yeah that makes sense, and also for me, it depends on what language I was introduced to the show in. Plus with subs there's extra difficulty if the font is small, I know that a lot of the reactions to subbed anime are more difficult for me to watch due to the sub dialog sometimes getting super blurry with some of the patreon reactions. For me I also think I enjoy subs cause since the descriptions are built in lol, as where if I put subs on for a dubbed performance, the dialog might not match up with what's being said and it's very confusing for my brain to process. Though I know for a fact that the English VA for Deku is great, I was originally introduced to him via Team Four Star's Final Fantasy 7 abridged as Cloud.

The best way to think of the hero profession in MHA is like professional athletes. Yes 80% of the real world population can run and jump but that doesn't make us capable of being a professional athlete. Same with having a quark doesn't make you a hero. You have to be born with a ton of natural talent and/or train very hard and long to develop that talent to a high enough level to beat out all the other people you're in competition with. There are many quarks that are not suited for hero work.

Japanese people do like fan service they do have vending machines that give out underwear and sex hotels, the age of consent is also 13 so their content from 12 and up is much more provocative with fan service or straight up inappropriate shows. It's an odd culture thing but eventually you get used to it.

It does seem like watching shows with subtitles is a kind of a learned skill even for a lot of non-APD having people. I've been doing it so long that I honestly don't remember how difficult or not it was for me (I also have APD to be clear) since it's basically just second nature now. Of course the whole reacting part adds an entire extra element which is probably the hardest part

As much as I love MHA and struggle with the same audio processing issues, I've only ever been able to watch it in the sub, because of how it was introduced, and the fact that it's in a different language forces me to pay attention to the plot, where as with English dubs some of the vocal performances or translated dialog just sound so wrong to me its hard to get into it, despite them being very well preformed. I fully understand why you're choosing dubs in this case, and while it's still not my cup of tea , I'm willing to give a chance because of how much you're clearly enjoying it.
