MIA (Green Beret 2) beta and fixes

Following last week’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' beta, we add support to MIA (Green Beret 2) to the JTTMNT core. The two arcade PCBs are very similar, but TMNT was a more expensive system. It had more chips and memory for sound and the video ROMs were larger. MIA feels like a vitaminated Green Beret where the essence of the original has been kept. Even to the point of keeping the character frame halted in the middle of the run when you stop, like the old game did.
The bugs that were reported in TMNT (all versions) and The Simpsons (problem saving the configuration on the MiSTer) have been fixed and the files are updated. The issue with configuration saving on The Simpsons may have been affecting Track & Field and Hyper Sports on the MiSTer, so these cores have been updated on JTBIN too. While working on the TMNT, issues that may have affected Aliens, Super Contra, MX5000, Fast Lane and Haunted Castle have been identified and corrected. These cores have also been recompiled with the fixes and updated.
The Analogue Pocket has missed configuration savings on my cores for too long. We are missing that feature on System 16B, The Simpsons, Pang! 3… I will look into it next week. Other than that, there will be one more arcade PCB added to the JTTMNT core next Friday.
No luck with bugs on the NGP this week. Although it looked like we had found something a couple of times, upon closer inspections things were correct. We will continue with the CPU testing during next week.
We are unveiling a ton of information related to Konami arcade boards which is helping aficionados repair their boards. Although FPGA is a form of preservation and documentation, being able to keep old boards alive as long as we can is necessary. We will never keep any technical information that can help repairing boards private.

Tras la beta de Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles de la semana pasada, añadimos soporte para MIA (Green Beret 2) al núcleo de JTTMNT. Depois do lançamento na passada semana da versão beta do Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles chega hoje a nova atualização do core JTTMNT com suporte ao MIA (Green Beret 2). As duas boards de Arcade são muito semelhantes, embora a do TMNT fosse mais robusta mas também mais cara.
Tinha mais chips, memória para som e as ROMs de vídeo eram maiores. MIA parece um Green Beret vitaminado, na qual foi mantida toda a essência do jogo original. Chegaram ao ponto de manter o quadro da personagem parado a meio da corrida, quando se pausa, como acontecia no jogo original.
Os erros reportados relativos ao TMNT (todas as versões) e “The Simpsons” (ao guardar a configuração na MiSTer) foram corrigidos e os ficheiros foram atualizados. O problema com a gravação da configuração em “The Simpsons” pode ter afetado o Track & Field e Hyper Sports também na MiSTer, pelo que levaram a atualizações dos cores no JTBIN. Durante o desenvolvimento do TMNT foram identificados e corrigidos problemas que podem afetar Aliens, Super Contra, MX5000, Fast Lane e Haunted Castle. Estes cores também foram recompilados com as novas correções e também atualizados.
Já há algum tempo que a Analogue Pocket não permitia gravar a configurações. Perdemos também essa funcionalidade no System 16B, “The Simpsons”, Pang! 3. Será revisto na próxima semana. Para além disso, será também adicionada mais uma board de Arcade ao core JTTMNT na próxima sexta-feira.
No core NGP, esta semana, não tivemos qualquer progresso. Embora parecesse que tenhamos encontrado o problema, após uma inspeção mais detalhada, não encontramos falhas. Continuaremos com os testes de CPU durante a próxima semana.
Estamos a disponibilizar uma tonelada de informação relacionada com as placas de arcade da Konami, o que está a ajudar todos os aficionados das reparações. Embora a FPGA seja uma forma de preservação e documentação, é necessário manter as placas antigas a funcionar o máximo de tempo possível. Nunca manteremos privada qualquer informação técnica que possa ajudar na reparação das mesmas.

Me he dado cuenta que tenía sin actualizar el core jtaliens así que me he puesto con ello. No arranca ningún juego ni en MiST ni en Sidi, dando los tres juegos el error de ROM BAD en todas las comprobaciones 😞. He probado con los MRA de github y tampoco. Si uso la versión anterior 20230630 sí que arrancan perfectamente. Ya discuparás el retraso, se me había pasado esta actualización :-)
