Shooters!
🕑 Added 2024-04-19 08:35:16 +0000 UTCPublic Releases
We are giving priority to finishing off the cores in beta phase. This week we promote two to public releases:
JTTMNT, supporting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, MIA and PunkShot is finally ready for prime time after implementing ROM checks
JTMX5K (Pocket), supporting MX5000 as no issues have been reported after a month
Shooters!
As the JTSHOUSE core completion advances, more games become playable. We bring this week support for the shooters in the system:
There are some sound noises related to changes in the dc level of the PCM signal when it goes to silence. We are looking into that.
Bug fixes and other updates
We have audited the main version for each game for audio volume. Some games are a bit too loud and some a bit too soft. We will balance all of them across the cores in a future update. The goal is that the user does not feel big volume changes when swapping games
sidi 128
We add support for the new sidi 128 FPGA platform. This is a middle price board, not as featured as a MiSTer but a big improvement over the previous sidi model. For developers, it is a nice board to work with basically because core compilation times are about 3x shorter than on the MiSTer. You will find sidi128 files along with sidi and mist in JTBIN and in the other zip files.
I am not involved with the development of sidi128, so please refer hardware and firmware questions to the seller.

I think it is for any user - by default some arcade owners back in the day would not want sound playing if nobody put a quarter in

Same for me. All the recent vertical releases don't include an option to "flip" the screen which renders these unplayable on my MisterCade setup without physically rotating the monitor in the cabinet 180 degrees. Please add this ability to these latest cores.

Is this advice for pocket users?
JOTEGO
Go into the service menu (F2 key) and turn on the attract mode sound.

Hello! Im new here, everything running well so far. I’ve noticed the intro to X-men: Children of Atom plays no sound in the CAPCOM CPS 2 core. Is there a fix to this?
Josh Mayer
Same results - no controls, as if it doesn’t recognize jtbeta
Josh Mayer
Thank you, will try 👍
JOTEGO
Hi Josh, it seems like files got corrupted in your SD card. Try deleting the _Arcade folder and running update_all again

Hello - have this current jtbeta and the new games work well, but simpsons core is locked out. Anyone else have this issue? Edit: on MiSTeR
AncientGamer
Same here. Unplayable for me currently.

For Sidi128 RBF files are only to be copied and ready to use without needing to copy other files like .MRA or Mame roms?
Rick S.
awesome! Thank you so much for your work.

make sure the latest jtbeta.zip is in the root of your micro sd, then run pupdate.exe again and it should notice you are a beta user, it does change here and there so you to make sure you notice the latest zip files when updated here in a fresh post these files your talking about are located on respective gits but they dont work for you unless your jtbeta.zip is current when it checks, otherwise these files will very likely be ignored.

We are not related to any program that download ROMs.
Pat Jones
I have noticed that with the last few beta releases the roms for the games are not being downloaded when using update all, is there a way to fix this? I’m I doing something wrong or should I add the roms manually?

Noticed rotate screen doesn’t work on monitors.

For the community: If you haven't done a full refresh of the JOTEGO cores (completely delete MRA, Platforms, Presets, Assets (you can leave the common folders), etc, I recommend you do that. I did that today and replaced all of the cores fresh, and it has fixed so many minor issues. Such as Gun.Smoke being flipped sideways, instead of vertical.

Thanks a lot for your work!!

Thanks a lot Jotego & team, great inputs from Gyurco these weeks. And thanks Jotego for supporting so many different platforms. It would be nice to hear your point of view as developer on the technical capabilities across different FPGAs: MiSTer, Analogue Pocket, SiDi/MiST, SiDi128
