I've been a season ticket holder with Bath Rugby (Union) for many years, so really enjoyed your reaction to this one. For Union, I'd say scores are similar to the NFL. In bad weather it could be 12-10, and top teams in good weather could be 45-40.

A typical score between 2 good teams would be 13-11, 25-10, 17-5, 31-20, etc etc. Rule of thumb is roughly take the average soccer score and multiply both team’s score by 10 (very rough guide)

With regards to a better team constantly scoring on you, that happens a lot; my country (Scotland, top 5 rugby union team in the world) played your country (USA) just a couple of weeks ago. The score was 85-0, highlights are on YouTube 🤣

They're absolutely separate sports; separate rules, world cups, even the players differ physicality (and therefore appearance). The working-class thing is also accurate, it's probably not something you're used to in America, but sports here are still largely class based, and the Union players are predominantly public (which means private) schoolboys, and the opposite for League players. This also goes for the fans, if you go to a game of either, you can clearly see a difference in supporter.

Score can differ depending on the teams playing the game, I dont think u can have or say what a games score will average at the end. U can have a game end 10-7 or 64-9 or 20-14, literally anything there's no average score really.
