Can Captain Of Industry be added to the list of games?

aldegamer

I vote for factorio space exploration!

Ronny H. Ringen

I find the challenges and work on the true megabase (and the things that come from it, like the awesome train outpost blueprint) very interesting and something I look forward to, though tbh I find pretty much all the factory games you do worthwhile to watch

Johnnie Madison

I really like the train based maps but would really like to see an island map with the cargo ships, or the Nullius mod where you have to terraform the planet. But no matter, I enjoy watching your let's plays so I'm fine with whatever you decide

Nilaus

I don't want to commit myself to a 1000 hour series and I am sure no viewers would remain interested in it after the first 50 hours

Filibel

As being an older guy in our community (60), I like all the stuff you do, specially the master classes. So a big mod like Py would be nice. An other community where I'm member played it with 5 people on a server and streamed it : it took just under total 1000 hours, so ....). Just have fun anyway

Anddy Archer

Couldn't reply to this from the ios app... Hope you find something then. I'll stop suggesting things, and just look forward to whatever you come up with ;)

Nilaus

I love playing it and this is also why I specifically don't ask for ideas for Factorio. I've either tried everything or considered it and discarded it. Yet people keep suggesting py, Space Exploration etc. so it seems like I just shoot down ideas, but it is actually the same old ideas being thrown at me all the time.

Anddy Archer

Do you actually want to play more Factorio? (I ask seriously because when people suggest things, you rarely respond differently than with “[Ive done everything already, what’s there left to do?]”.) Obviously most of us here love your Factorio content, but I’m sure most would also agree that we don’t want it forced. One thing you could do is short demos of ideas, kind of like your highlights from your twitch shenanigans. You could even go through some of your old content and revisit an epiphany you had that’s now only visible in some old season’s video. Or, since you’ve got some very talented modding friends, come up with a way to revert the current version of Factorio to use the original tech tree. Or, play a game where the biters evolve twice as fast as your tech so eventually you will be overrun if you don’t launch a rocket to escape—no more easy mode walls. Or, get a mod that reduces your hp permanently from pollution, so you have to seriously manage that. If not Factorio content, you could just do 15-30min minimally edited naked runs of games in your steam backlog. They wouldn’t get a ton of large number views, but they’d be easy small content that could bring in the random new viewer—just clarify at the start that you don’t expect to play the game correctly, but you’re just trying it out. Anyway, good luck.

Idea for new youtube content: I am an agile coach and would be very interested to use some kind of short wrap up video (10 mins) to explain the effect that changing rules at local level can have on a big scale in terms of relevant characteristics (technical debt, scalability,...). Games like factorio and DSP are well suited to be the building blocks to use to create great educational content. I am a big fan of Smarter Every Day and Veritasium, and I think you could create great content as well.

Luca Montanari

As an alternative to mods, you could spice up with some kind of challenge (both for Factorio and DSP). You could ask your fans to propose and vote these challenges. Example1 architectural guideline: use specialized districts for building intermediate parts and components vs build a district with all necessary to produce a specific product. define metrics, and see what happens. when you move the pattern to a big scale.

Haha agreed re Dutch. Yes correct it's not the ideal streaming game but was just interested if that's the kind of game you'd enjoy for yourself (not for us). I think it's a brilliant game, setting a bar for others like that (hello CyberPunk!). It's something to be enjoyed slowly and appreciated.

Nilaus

I have played it a bit offline when it came out until I got too annoyed with Dutch :) That kind of games doesn't work on my YouTube channel and would take way too many stream slots for no viewership, so that will not happen

Nilaus

I like the self-imposed rules for Factorio as well, but after 49 seasons; it is hard to come up with new and unique ideas

Nilaus

Thanks for the feedback. I agree with DSP needing something new

Nilaus

no I didn't ;)

Nilaus

It is something I consider going back to, it is just a bit of a stressful game to play

Nilaus

I am thinking the same about DSP. I'd love to play it more, but I think it needs something new to make a new series stand out

Nilaus

It is way too long a mod pack to play. It would be a dedication of 300+ hours and experience shows that most views lose interest in long series

Fezz

Hey Nilaus - have you ever thought about playing something like Red Dead Redemption 2? It's something completely different from the usual stuff. Just curious. :)

Rhiath

I'd love DSP, but needs new content before it is reasonable. For factorio, maybe something like the mod Automatic_Coupling_System ? Shouldn't interfere too much and might introduce some interesting quirks into the gameplay. Like "limited trains, unlimited cargo wagons". Not sure about the long term interest that mod would cause though.

Anddy Archer

I liked DSP but it lacks freedom to make more designs like Factorio does, IMHO. I would love to see more factorio in general; I’m into the self imposed rules to win. I’ve got a ribbon world I slowly work on, as well as one that uses a single train. I also like it when you’ve got custom personal mods like the factory spawner. I was thinking of starting one where you can only make buildings on foundation—obviously either need to mod in a wooden form or allow smelters/miners on ground—and make stone more scarce, or some other rule. As for big mods, I’d love to see you use the shipping mod and islands map.

Data Raider

You forgot to add Factorio with Py mods to the list. :)

Joseph Zwingraf-JR

I enjoy your all your content but I feel like DSP is lacking anything to make it a unique playthrough different from your original playthrough so my vote is for maybe some kind of new Factorio modded playset? I did enjoy the meteors destroying your base from twitch donations so I enjoy that level of interaction but I also enjoy seeing you overcome the complexities of the more advanced mods like space exploration, Angels and Bobs but I know you have already done those so that's likely out. Maybe a different mod combo to change up how you get from beginning to end game megabase?

GermanOnMeth

unfortunately that makes sense :(

George_APOG

ONI it is more fun watching you play games where the minions cause problems.

John Ward

I enjoy Factorio and DSP, though the latter needs some new updates before being able to create a new streaming / YouTube series, imo. Any games you enjoy I will usually enjoy the content.

Qupva

IIRC he has a strong dislike for Space Exploration, and he has said that he won't do a hevly modded playthrough because it alienates a big portion Og his wieverbase

MikołajZ

How can Factorio exist without you? ;)

GermanOnMeth

how about bob + angel + Space Exploration + LTN + Mega Base? (maybe throw in Rampant and natural evolution for some spice ;-) )

Johnnie Madison

I really enjoy the factorio series you do, have you ever thought of doing the full py suite

Conventus

taking you strengths in factorio and applying them to games like oni and satisfactory where there are few optimised design guru's. It will take time to build the followers to the same level but you'll get there.

Pozvizd

I'm ok with all games in list. I think you should pick game you have best idea for base/playthrough design. I would vote for DSP, but I don't see, how you can make your playthrough significantly different from previous.

Tricorius

Is there any production value in an expensive resource or expensive research playthrough? I think that alters the recipes enough that the builds would change ... might be fun to redesign some of the old standard blueprints.

Claus Derlien

stay on the path! the factory must grow

casperisgod911

the factory must grow, forever👻
