When I started the arc of the depressurization emergency, I did not know why I started it. I just knew that something in the writing department of my brain demanded I write the scene and write it right now. And so I did, trusting that I would find out on the journey where this was leading (because I had no fucking idea). It was as I started this chapter that it finally came clear to me. I must have known all the time deep inside because everything just fell perfectly into place. Nothing life-changing, just an arc that is needed before the end of the book. Let me know how you like it. The arc is, by the way, still in progress.

Minor quibble: I can see Jake, Celia or Laura referring to something as an "extinction-level event", but not Tif.
