I might have a job?
🕑 Added 2016-02-10 16:07:30 +0000 UTC $3 Patrons saw me mention this off-handedly in their post of the Inks yesterday, but I was going off to do some on-site freelance work for the company my husband works for. This just means that I go to an office that's hiring me as a freelancer and do work on their computers for the day/week/whatever time they've contracted me for. It's easier when you need to do a lot of revisions.
To make a long story short, my husband got a new job and I applied for his old one. And yesterday when I arrived I was told that they would hire me right then on the spot if they weren't legally obligated to wait two weeks to give everyone else a fair shot at it.
I'll know for sure next Friday, but this is a full-time storyboard revisionist position. If I get it (I'm not dealing in absolutes just yet), a lot of things will be changing, but I don't want the comic and its production to be affected by it. I think I just won't be so readily available to answer comments and messages to readily.
But yes, this is something I want you guys to be aware of. I'm on a trial period for the time being and I need to focus on that. I'm not ignoring you, there are just major life developments.

That sounds awesome! As energy sucking as gainful employment tends to be, it is indeed necessary for maintaining a stable lifestyle. I too am on the hunt for a new position (in IT, so no threat to you :D). Hopeful conratulations are in order, I think.

That's great! I hope you get it :D And don't be afraid to reduce the pages per week to one again until you feel like you can handle the two responsibilities without over working yourself.
Again sorry. Please ignore 3 postings... but please take the job and go with it... if you have to go down to 1 per week I would not mind myself.
I'm soo sorry my hands were shaking when posting. I'll continue here.

Long long ago there was 2 artists doing comics in the days before the internet. Both were on the verge of becoming something special to their reader base.

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Steady work is a definite +!!!!! Storyboarding... man, I suck at that, if only because I do stick figure storyboards. You would so totally ROCK in that role, though!!!! I hope you have tons of fun and don't go too crazy with all their revisions!!

Grats and good luck! It's cool that you don't want the comic production to be affected, but if you do need to scale it back a bit I'm sure everyone would understand. Please don't burn yourself out!
Congrats!
