More like, uh, visual consistency. Orrig's axe suddenly changes to this design with little rhyme nor reason somewhere in Chapter 4, and stays this way onwards, so these couple of drawings were updated to remain consistent with that. Knowing this, it's pretty glaringly obvious as you go back though older parts of the archive - it's been bothering me for AGES.

Out of curiosity, why the change in axes? Just for more visual distinction?
