Well, and there's frankly no reason a primary spell-caster can't be strong and beefy. I think the only reason that's a trope at all is because of stat balances in roleplaying games.

Even academics develop arm strength and better overall fitness if they join a mercenary team. The running to get into place, the climbing rocks or trees, and the hauling of water, firewood, and spell books, and the added bonus of regular meals get our favorite Cinnamon Roll into a toned body shape. Not that she can, or wants to, compete with Lyra.
