Thistle would fit well in Bujold's Five Gods universe. Mass and energy do have to be taken into account when doing Shamanistic or Sorcery based magic (Saints get a pass, doing magic straight courtesy of the Gods), so there is a bit of scientific rigor required when casting spells. OTOH I doubt she'd be happy about the sorcery requiring the aid of one of the B-st-rd's demons (even if Thistle meeting Penric and his demon Desdemona would be an amusing idea).
