Feedback on Drinking Buddies!
🕑 Added 2023-05-24 12:35:41 +0000 UTCDo you guys have tips for how to improve drinking buddies? I was looking through the survey (and though not many people), like two pointed out that Drinking Buddies starts to get repetitive after a while.
This will also help give me input for how to do do Ashe's Combat Training, as its a somewhat similar thing.
For Drinking Buddies, not many pointed out that feedback, but its reinforced what I felt about the limitations of the feature for a while.
In short, I'm asking all these questions because I only want to provide the exemplary for SDA and Ashe. I am aware of existing limitations with Skyrim's engine, RPGs, and videogames as a whole, but wherever possible I want to move past those and give you guys believable human beings - more than just 'characters' and moreso 'followers'. I don't know if I'll ever achieve this, or if Serana or Ashe will really just seem like regular NPCs after a while, but it's a goal of mine nonetheless.

This might be hard to implement, but maybe she can comment on things that happen within a day. Say you clear a fort or cave, she will comment on that? I don't know if that makes any sense.

would it be possible to make Serena comment about current events from the adventures with the Dragonborn? but only on current events such as, if you get Serena in your party (hunting for the Mothpriest). You do the events that start off the main story quest in Whiterun with her she will make comments on how weirded out she is that you sucked in a soul, happy the player is also not quite normal like her, etc etc. I noticed she makes comments about stuff that hasn't happened, or that we are such renowned heroes of the land when in truth we have just done basic sidequests unless that's an intended feature.

If possible, make it more progressive, start with light conversations and after X amount some more in depth questions we can ask her. Keep it light the first drinking round, and the more often we take Serana to an inn the more questions to ask her open up.

it wont fix the the repetitive nature of it per se but itd be much better if i can offer more drinks likes argonian blood wine, black briar reserve, the dunmer drinks and my personal favorite meme drink mead with juniper.

Any feedback to make it less annoying?
I'm towards the last third of a playthrough with 4.x and yeah I mostly ignore the the drinking buddy requests now. The opening and closing dialogue could change to match the relationship with the player. 'ahh it's nice...' is totally fine but I've heard it a lot.
