v13.1.12+231230 many more things
🕑 Added 2023-12-30 16:53:13 +0000 UTCI'm happy to announce a new version, the last one for 2023. It has been an honour to receive so much support all throughout this year and see thing like the newly introduced Community Add-on Script Index expand as fast as it does with all your additions.
I wish you all a happy 2024!
It is expected to be a busy year for D&D and tabletop RPG games in general.
This version includes the player content from The Book of Many Things. This latest publication by WotC had a lot more player content than I expected, certainly more than most recent books. The fact that this content is mostly magic items is a bit of a let down, as those aren't typically up to a player to pick. On top of that, they aren't the simplest to make fit on the sheet (I'm looking at you, Deck of Many More Things, see image).
With the holidays and the fact that I'm staying at family where the internet speed is 2 Mbps on a good day, this release got a bit delayed, but I wanted to make sure I get it finished before the new month/year.

- NEW CONTENT: The Book of Many Things
- Updated the spell sheet glossary to include all official spell sources, thus adding "Planescape - Sigil and the Outlands" (PS) and "The Book of Many Things" (MT).
- Added optional suffix for linking CreatureList objects to CompanionList objects. Now you can add “_not_al” (e.g. “mount_not_al) for the creature to only be listed in the menu when the sheet is not in Adventurers League mode (DCI field visible). When these are displayed in the menu, the text “(if DM approves)” is added.
- Improved tables on the Notes page for magic items that use real-life playing cards, like the Deck of Many Things.
- Changed Improved Divine Smite to now add “in melee” to the description of a thrown weapon, so it reads “+1d8 Radiant damage in melee” (MBUG-126).
- Improved the highlight colour options by making them lighter. Text should now be easier to read when the field highlight colour is set to one of the colourful options. Note that this won’t change the colour when you import an old sheet, for that you’ll have to select the colour anew from the menu.
- Fix “Black Tentacles” short description (how did this go unnoticed for 7 years?).
- Fix “Improved Pact Weapon” and similar features not applying to magic weapons that use the `chooseGear` attribute (MBUG-125).
- Fix error due to incorrect documentation “_common spell list object.js”, the `class` attribute worked only with “any” not “all”. The function has now been changed to work with both “any” and “all” for backwards compatibility.
- Fix bug with magic ammunition with a pop-up for selecting the type (`chooseGear` attribute) not appearing on the 1st page and throwing an error when being added/removed.
To update a character from an old version to this new version, please follow the step-by-step guide on my website: How To: Upgrade To New Sheet.
I thought about waiting one more day to post this for the nice version number '+231231', but I figured getting it out before the last day of the year is better.
I am trying out new text headers in this post with more colourful text and have changed those in older posts to use a grey text. I did this because with the introduction of dark mode on Patreon's desktop version, I noticed that my headers were not really legible. Please feel free to comment what you think of this change.

All firearms, including the pistol, are excluded by default. When you open the sheet for the first time, you'll see the source selection dialog. You can also open this dialog with the "Source Material" bookmark and button. That dialog includes a section with stuff that is excluded by default, as those things are not allowed in most games. To make them available, you will have to open the corresponding sub-dialog using the buttons in the source selection dialog (i.e. "Weapons/Attacks" for firearms).

Hey, love your work - quick question (not sure where I should ask this) but how do I add a pistol into the attacks section, it's not in the drop down box and when I type in Pistol it doesn't do add it either. Am I missing something super obivous? Thanks again and love the sheets!!

Hi Eric, As a Scholar-tier subscriber (i.e. $3+) you get access to the shared folder on Dropbox (and/or Google Drive). Please message me the email address you use for your Dropbox account and I'll add you to the shared folder. Don't post it as a reply to this message, as all patrons can see these comments. A quick question. Is there a way to get updates sent to a dropbox or something similar? If so, how to I set it up?
