TUTORIAL: Chaos Freehand (Abaddon's Cloak)

We've got a really striking, effective tutorial this week that pretty much anyone should be able to do. We're looking at Freehanding a Chaos symbol onto Abaddon's cloak in a flame effect.
Of course if you're not planning on following along on this exact model or symbol, this is still a handy look at creating planning freehand of any symbol on any cloak, so it's still worth a look.

Ok cool, thanks for getting back to me! I think I’ll try it both ways on a bit of card or something and get a feel for the difference between the two methods. I do have an Abaddon to build so if it works out I may just do this with his cloak. Also, do you think the technique in this video would work in the same way to create a fiery Eye of Horus for a Knights shoulder pad? I think it would but any tips before I try would be appreciated.
Hey! Glad you like the video! In regards to the use of yellow and glazing over red I personally find it easier to create a saturated orange whilst controlling the transition completely by using this method. You could absolutely use an orange yourself if you have one you really like!
This looks awesome! I am a little confused about one thing though, is there a reason you used yellow glazed with red to make orange instead of just going in with something like Fire Dragon Bright orange as an intermediate between the red and yellow?
